Question about Colony patio villa
Hello all. I am looking at the colony villa and I know it has a 1.5 garage. I wonder is it big enough that a Jeep Grand Cherokee with a golf cart can fit?
|
I am guessing this will be tight from comments I have seen previously. I would measure each (I will be glad to give you our Yamaha measurements), then get the villa plans and place each in the garage. Now, look at access to the vehicles, AND storage, there is very little storage in the house.

Our 2 seat Yamaha golf cart, and Buick enclave fit in our old patio villa. Garage was a little wall-to-wall but little snug. Not much room for anything else, unless you hung it on the wall.

We can fit a Ford Explorer with our golf cart side by side and its tight but very doable. Able to fit hanging rakes, garden tools too. Store patio furniture also. Storage cabinets line walls with shelving.

Have a Jeep G.C. and Yamaha 2 seat G.C., can get both in P.V. garage, but it is a snug fit.

We live in a "Colony" (but not a Colony Villa). The 1.5 garage was too small for us since our GC has large doors so rather than give up the doors & A/C we had the garage built out by 4 feet turning into into a "pseudo" 2 car. Pseudo because of the A/C unit in the back reduces the length on the right side. Our next door neighbor (same home 1.5 standard garage) fits his small SUV and regular golf cart but not much room to spare for any shelving etc along the sides. If you want more storage space **AND** SUV and GC it might be a bit tight.

No problem just kind of a pain in the butt though very tight . Guessing you are referring to a courtyard villa.

As always, there are trade offs relative to what type of home you’re looking for and locations, price, other features that have you wanting the colony villa anyway. We easily fill up most of a 2 car garage with just a few recreational items and the golf cart in the other side. Respectfully, DB |
My friends get their Chevy Equinox and golf cart, push mower and other things in the garage. Tight, not much moveability but doable...

The Grand Cherokee, no matter how much you love it, will be sitting out it the sun in the driveway, baking. Your Golf cart and all your junk will be filling up that tiny garage. Fact.

I had a courtyard villa and had my golf cart and a Hyundai Santa Fe in it. It was extremely tight, and when I needed to back the golf cart out I had to do a lot of maneuvering (not enough space to back straight out). Decided it just was not worth it and moved after a year and a half to a designer model. So much happier, and so much more garage space!

Grand Cherokee will fit
I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 2 seat Yamaha golf cart. They both fit in just fine in the garage of my Colony Patio Villa. There is even room to get out of the passenger door. It is a close fit, but very doable.

I believe the Cabot Cove model has more room in the garage
