I think I need to call for my smelling salts. How in the heck did Ohio show up with Texas sheet cake? (Now, I must go look up Texas sheet cake to find out what it is so I can figure out why it took the #1 spot in OH.)

Yeah, Jello, really? And Funnel Cake, as in the greasy stuff dispensed at Carnivals? However, some states show class, such as New Mexico and Bananas Foster, assuming it contains rum.

Wisconsin here - cherry pie is okay, I guess, just not a favorite of mine. I would prefer the Texas sheet cake! I’ve had it and it’s good!

Love the Key Lime pie also. Glad we moved from Virginia. Funnel Cake?? Only at fairs, etc.

Minnesota's favorite dessert is...JELL-O??

As a former Minnesotan I can say that we do eat a lot of the stuff, but not so much as a dessert as a salad. Big a church socials and such. Take some orange Jell-O, mix it up and just before it begins to coagulate, take a couple of raw carrots, peel off slices with a veggie peeler and stir 'em into the Jell-0. Some people use lime Jell-O, for the color contrast I guess.

One of the more popular desserts up there, at least among the Norskies, is "Kremkake" (KRUMM-Kaaka). Cream cake. Often decorated with colorful berries and other fruit. Beats the heck out of most of the other desserts on this list.

I think anyone from Maine would tell you the favorite dessert is either whoopie pies or blueberry pie. I’ll take the blueberry pie, myself!
