Friends looking to spend time in the Villages in 2023

Hi y'al, First time posting so I apologize if I do this wrong. My GA friends are looking to spend March 2023 in TV. They want to rent a 3/2 with king sized bed in Master and a pool if possible. They have 2 well behaved dogs and are non-smokers! They want to stay for the month and check out central Fl and all that TV has to offer since I've talked it up so much. If I'm in the wrong spot, direct me please. Thank you! Pam pkstewart3352@gmail.com

Welcome, Pam. You are doing this just fine. If you have not read TOTV much, be warned that there are a lot of jokers on here as well as a lot of good advise.
My suggestion is for your friends to go through a rental agent associated with a real estate agent. Best and safest way to go imo.
Good luck,
Fred

Nothing wrong with this post and request. And no reason for any cute pot shots.

Previous advise is fine but a caution.

Asking for a king size bed and coming with two dogs and wanting a pool in the middle of winter (prime season) is not going to be cheap.

Might as well go all the way and ask for a golf cart and for the house to be near a town square?

Unless they love to swim and have mobility issues do not understand why they would need a house with a pool. Unless of course the dogs like to swim.

expensive is relative, availability is absolute. Good luck with availability for that in high season, as our plebeian no pool no cart no dogs is already booked for 2023 hi season so best you start today with a rental agency to get a rental. maybe the non plebeian houses are available. . .

IMHO, I would go for just off prime season, you will have a wider selection and lower prices, you would probably want to avoid July and August, but months shortly before or after should provide more selection.

As others have mentioned, March is going to be more expensive than the off season.

Here are two sites (there are others) where you can look find availability and price for homes. My family has used the Villages HPM but I have no experience with the other.

Sorry! it’s our villages rental dot com

I had good luck using the website '***********************'- lots of listings directly from owners. Listings from RE firms will be more expensive. As noted herein, monthly rentals in April-Sept will be much cheaper. Dogs will be an issue and will limit supply. With a pool?-forgetaboutit! Lots of neighborhood pools in the Villages- a 1 month rental will get you guest passes to all of them. In season rentals much more expensive (3X-4X) and available supply reduced because of the animals. Hope this helps.
