The Villages Needs A Lazy River Pool Ride
 

The Villages has many things to offer. But, there is one thing that would really stand out! And, that would be a lazy river ride like you see when your staying at the hotels in Orlando. The First Responders recreation center has 20 acres. This site would have been perfect for that. They have the room, even though they've just about completed this new site. Maybe a future possibility?
There is also much more building to come in the new area south of 44. Maybe they can look into this?

There’s a company who was going to build a huge water park/water beach type thing around the Villages. It was in the papers about 18 months ago ad discussed on here, but I can’t find the details.

We asked for a lazy river at the first responders site, we petition for it but we’re turned down. They asked what we wanted but they already knew what they were putting there so nothing changed.

I used to enjoy sailing. Here, alligators, lightening, probably not a good idea.

As nice as that might sound to some, I don’t see how it could ever make sense for TV.

The logistics could never work. The ratio of people to the ride would be so out of whack there would be knock-down-drag-outs all the time.

Villagers get upset when they have to wait in line at the grocery store. (I personally just use the wait time to read the tabloids that I would never buy.)

Such a ride would come with liability potential, too. Several years ago, the developer shut down the Lifelong Learning College that had classes under the umbrella of TV. Because of a threat of a lawsuit, the developer just slammed the door on what was once important to a lot of Villagers — including me.

Sorry — don’t think a lazy river is a realistic hope.

People complain about the cost of adding a walking path. I'm for a lazy river circling Paddock Square to replace the landmarks.

Sorry, putt and play or pitch and play what ever way more important. They done survey, I like to know how many voted for the 100 grand 4 platform tennis? This was topic during the initial planning stage, but I don’t remember it being in the questionnaire? IMO bottom line they put what they wanted. Responder’s rec center due to open around 3 week in July. Outside grounds completely done.

You nailed it Boomer. For those that do not know just one man (a retired attorney) got our Lifelong Learning College shut down (I believe he almost got lynched). Can you imagine what would happen if someone's grandchild had an accident on a Lazy River Ride? Also, if there was money in a Lazy River Ride I think an outsider wuld have built one on the outside of TV.
