So with many saying not needed that would mean less of a line. When we go to water parks my wife and I only do the lazy river.

The new rec center was suppose to have a zero entry pool as well but the powers to be over road the vote and we are not getting it.

There’s a company who was going to build a huge water park/water beach type thing around the Villages. It was in the papers about 18 months ago ad discussed on here, but I can’t find the details.

I would think that if this was going to happen more would be known.

That article was June 2021, agree, should be further developed if it was happening.

The First Responders recreation center has 20 acres. This site would have been perfect for that. They have the room, even though they've just about completed this new site. Maybe a future possibility?
There is also much more building to come in the new area south of 44. Maybe they can look into this?

I think we can do this but we need a corporate sponsor to carry the cost of construction. Wait how about Depends. Come enjoy Depends lazy river. Let’s go!

Yep. And a roller coaster and a big ferris wheel. And funnel cakes. I want to live in an amusement park. That's why I moved someplace that isn't.

I sure hope it wouldn't include allowing flyboards that are seen in the picture. Those things are SO noisy and crazy dangerous.

A lazy river sounds great but you need many (over 20) powerful pumps to handle the flow and you will need more than just a regular pool guy to handle the maintenance. The costs are astronomical. It works in commercial establishments because they have their own in house maintenance persons handle 15-30 rides on a daily basis

What about maintenance and the biggest issue, sanitation...it would be a breeding ground for disease. Covid is bad enough with contamination via the air...but, with water, all kinds of transmissible diseases would be possible!

sailing

Raced sailboats for a long time and Lake Eustis has a fleet like the small boat I started with. Ski beach lake harris has a place you can join but the Eustis group actually shutdown in summer so it seemed like a bad idea and it is a initiation and monthly fee..

“You nailed it Boomer. For those that do not know just one man (a retired attorney) got our Lifelong Learning College shut down (I believe he almost got lynched). Can you imagine what would happen if someone's grandchild had an accident on a Lazy River Ride? Also, if there was money in a Lazy River Ride I think an outsider wuld have built one on the outside of TV.”

Also curious about this. I know that our society has become very litigious, but what possibly could’ve made someone want to go after a lifelong learning center?
