Fix your d#$% ball marks on the greens.

If you are good or lucky enough to hit the green with your approach shot, and make a ball mark, please fix that D&%# hole you made!! They put a lot of effort in maintaining these courses. Please do your part. It's not that hard! Bend over with a tool and fix the hole. Mangrove course today - I fixed 10-15 mark on every green - outrageous! And the greens were aeriated, to boot. Respect the courses please.

It’s not right, but its par for the course on the executives : (

I fix other ball marks also. Good practice for if I ever make one.

Problem is some don’t have a clue on how to fix a ball mark, some don’t realize what a ball mark is.
My goal is fix 10 ball marks while waiting for others to putt. I have time for more, but like to read my putt

At least the blame can’t fall on the snow birds this time of the year!

That would get you an unexpected vacation

Same with the championship courses. I understand sometimes you can't find a mark so fix another, always some available.

Ball Marks

It won't kill you to bend over and fix a mark. Or rake your footprints in the trap.

Papa_lecki 06-27-2022 05:27 AM

If you’re talking Mangrove, and you played in the morning, there’s a guy who goes out on Mangrove after the started leaves, and hits 15 or 20 balls onto every green, and doesn’t fix ANY ball marks .
I’ve been behind him a few times.
Said something to him once, but he ignored me.

We have some golfers here that practice good overall golf etiquette but generally most do not. We also have a growing number of players who feel it's not their job, it's the ambassadors job and aren't bashful to tell you as such. Personally I think the only way to solve the issue is to start assigning points to anyone observed not fixing ball marks, take bunkers, drive their carts where they shouldn't. It's simple, if you don't respect our courses, you don't get tee times.
Or I hear from people I golf with " I can't bend over to fix my ball mark because I have a bad back" yet they will be the first ones to dive on the ground if I drop a $10 bill.
I know I'm way out there so thanks for listening.

Could they implement a "vacation" system, like here? Ambassadors give points when they catch someone leaving their mark (not even looking for it) and when they get enough points they get to do something else for a month.

That may be true for a small group, but I think the primary issue is laziness. Or perhaps entitlement. These are the same clowns who never rake a bunker. Hit their tee shots 30 yards, and then hack their way to the green like they're in a jungle with a machete, never grabbing a sand bottle. Shoot, they are probably the same people that leave their shopping carts out in the middle of parking lots!

Assigning these folks points would not keep them off the courses. Points don't apply to walk-ons, or those sharpshooting a tee time up to 3 days in advance. How about posting their picture at starter shacks? I'm OK with publicly shaming golf slobs.

They also toss their take out soda cups wherever they happen to be.

I hear another season of Squid Game is coming out, maybe we could have start shooters along the course and they just shoot them... survivors a the end of the year get free amenity fees for life... (that was a sarcastic joke, please don't shoot those people...)
