Advice of moving furniture, Boston MA area to TV
 

We plan to move only some of our furniture to TV. Seeking advice on movers.

You will probably pay more to move it than it is worth.

Don’t listen to those who tell you not to bring furniture. We used a pod, this month, which will sit in storage until our house is built. Under $4,000 for the move. Went furniture shopping last week, not only didn’t like anything, plus not the beautiful pecan wood we have. Plus a headboard, dresser, one nightstand, $7200. Plus 2 of the 3 pieces not available until March. Supply chain still not recovered

Can get free bids and ratings on Uship. There is a fellow who goes from Here to Boston and back weekly. Should find him on the site

I guess it depends on how expensive your taste in furniture is.

Not really, even City low end bedroom started at $2700. Not really a Odd lot kind of person. Since this stuff is coming from VN it’s been in shipping contain for couple years

We used a mover from Franklin, MA. The large companies do multiply households at the same time to help reduce the cost.

Used a pod and their recommended packers. Excellent experience. Great company to deal with, excellent packing and no damage to anything. I have antiques and everything arrived in super condition.

We dont plan too many things.
My wife called and apparently we would had to load & unload the pod. It that true.

We got rid of a ton of stuff but still took a lot of furniture we enjoyed.

Used a mover that moved total of 3 families and was a worthwhile investment.

There are different POD providers out there.
Some provide labor.
There is labor down here in TV.

Most movers broker loads and you have no idea who is handling your assets.
Be very careful and confirm they will not broker.

We received 3 companies to call to load. Once you get to TV there are lots of unloading options. Although we loaded ourselves, with grandkids help. Bonus I know exactly what boxes I want unloaded first. Furniture wise we brought our buffet, and 1 bedroom set. Everything else was just boxes. You chose how long to pack, then our pod delivered to Ocala Pod storage.

Actually even the national company kind of plays a game.

We used Allied and they put the move out to bid with their drivers.

Got a good driver and in Va put out a bid for a couple of laborers to help load his truck and that went well.

Did the same here and as it turns out some damage was done and the laborers hid it and going thru the process of filing a claim and accepting depreciation on the table that was damaged made it not worth the effort.
