Can Sarah beat Obama in 2012?

In an interview with Barbara Walters, Sarah Palin says that she thinks she can beat Obama in 2012. I know many people are giggling now, but I'm not. She has proved over and over again that she is way more formidable than her detractors give her credit for. This could get really good.

Richie...do not want to be a bummer because I normally agree with many of your posts however, AT THIS POINT I am not a huge supporter of Sarah Palin as a candidate for such a high office. I agree with much of what she says, but she is short on any actual plans...she has become a great cheerleader and I do not mean that in a nasty way. She is much much too general with what she says.

Actually, if she ran against Obama...well, lets put it this way...RIGHT NOW, I think almost anyone can beat Obama EXCEPT for Palin...she is much too much of a polarizing figure !

We'll see. I know she's underestimated and many have reasons why she can't win. But 2012 is still a ways off and she's letting more and more people get to know her and I think she almost always comes out looking better and better and she's not going to fall for the crap like Couric put her through anymore.

I don't really put her at the top of my list at this moment, but I am definitely open to the idea of her getting in the arena.

Good, good; just stay in the dark Actor.

OK, I'll Answer Your

original question. The only way Palin could be elected in 2012 would be for her to have Christine O'Donnell cast a spell over the electorate to convince them that this totally unqualified candidate, who quit her last elected position to seek fame and fortune, should be our president.

The country elected a totally unqualified candidate in the last Presidential election. If he keeps performing as he has, a comedian could best him. Hey, maybe the comedian will beat him in the primary - Al Franken is available and surely could no worse than BO.

I see the humor in what you said, but to me I find more humor in the fact that you're saying it. If you're representative of the Democrat electorate, I'm feeling better and better about the prospect of you having a shocked look on your face in November of 2012.

Richie, in all honesty

I'm really not a hard core Dem. I voted for GWB in 04 as a matter of fact. I enjoy playing devil's advocate and using a little sarcasm to make a point. I dislike Keith Olbermann as much as I dislike Limbaugh and Beck.

OK, fair enough. I made an assumption based on your post. I just think that it's short sighted for the Libs to continue to underestimate the impact of Sarah Palins candidacy or endorsement after her near king-maker status in the recent elections. I don't mind, really. I enjoy their obliviousness to the real politic.

If what you say is true, then PLEASE come back and discuss an issue instead and without the sarcasm aimed at people. Would be a real nice change !

Dont misunderstand...I dont dislike her. I just want to hear her discuss the issue details and that is not a shot at her like in 2008, when she was ambushed. The same thing goes for Romney (at this point my choice) and any other potential candidates.

We cannot get anything done with platitudes...we have a man in the WH who got elected on pretty platitudes. We have a congress that is in there because of sound bites and platitudes. We need to get into the HOW part real quick and instead of pretty faces, pretty words, or things we like to hear, lets elect folks who have what it takes to get things done without worrying about the D or R after names.
