Tuition cost for Villages Charter School?

I have a friend interested in relocating. They asked about tuition to the charter school. I swear I looked through the website and application and couldnt find it anywhere.
I know about the requirements for employment.
Thanks

I would imagine that if your friends contacted the school all their questions would be answered. Most of the answers you will get here will be guesses or assumptions.

Contact the school and ask about fees as well as any tuition.

The Charter schools are part of the public school system and are funded with state taxes and local school taxes. I don't believe there is any tuition required to attend.

There is no tuition. One parent does have to work for The Villages or one of their affiliated companies. There is also a required amount of volunteer time that a parent must put in.

Charter schools are public schools. No tuition.

All about Florida Charter Schools.

Just a minor clarification to the above. One parent has to work for The Villages, or a business located in The Villages. Does not have to be an affiliated company. This allows people working in restaurants, grocery stores, hair salons, etc. the right to send their children to the Villages Charter schools. Based on first hand experience of one of our service providers, this is STRICTLY enforced. When a spouse who worked in the Villages decided to take a job outside the Villages, they were informed their children would not longer be able to attend the Charter School. The other spouse got a part time job in a restaurant in the Villages so the children would not have to change schools.

My grand daughters go there it has no tuition and an 8 dollar a day for after school care to 6 pm. School lets out at 2:45 so if they are still there you pay the after school care fee.

Perhaps a private school is what your friend needs.

If they have children, I hope mom or dad are planning on working in TV, remember no children, unless they changed the rules there!

No children where? Middleton is family housing (not a 55+ community) and has no restriction on children.

We saw the TV video re the new Charter School in Middleton. Simply amazing. So proud of the developer & fam to cover all costs for the schools. They should be commended for this effort. And an strong indication how they will continue building south. ...we may be a suburb of Orlando sometime - or be linked with Disneyworld. The Villages Land....

The Developer may have covered the initial costs to build the schools but there is a large sum of money being paid by Sumter County to lease the Charter schools. "If we build it, they will buy it."

Nothing underhanded about this but nothing too philanthropic either. Just business and marketing. Will benefit all of us over time.

BUT if that parent quits the job or is fired....the student and his/her parents are notified and they will need to enroll somewhere else.

Please take a look at other family communities in FL, school taxes increased dramatically when they needed to build schools. Bonds issued and the servicing of those bonds raised the school taxes ALOT. So yes in order to have workers in the area they built the schools but there is not a huge bond and a massive increase in taxes to get them built.
