Is there a local businesses to get mower blades sharpened?

Not looking for Google is your friend…looking for those with experience at a local shop or individual who does mower blade sharpening

Why not buy $4 file and do it yourself. Plenty of utube tutorials show how, not that difficult. But could been safety issue if have no skills? I would check ACE hardware first if no way can do it yourself. They’re also all types of gadgets to use with drill, but IMO they usually take off more metal than required.

Due to meds, I can look at something and bleed. After years of surgery, chemo, have little feeling in fingers, my hands no long as in a safe zone for anything sharp.

Call ACE hardware I sure they can help you providing you can get blades off? If not you maybe able to haul mower there? As last resort you can get cut proof gloves to protect you hands. If you can’t take blades some where I’m afraid the cost for someone to come to you house may be have price of mower?

It typically costs about the same, to a little bit more, to just get new blades and replace the dull ones. Plus, sharpening the blades can change the weight distribution which causes them to wobble a bit when spinning at fast RPM’s and can damage the bearings in the spindles. If you can wait until the third week of September, when we get to our villages home, I would be happy to swap the blades out for you. Usually only takes a few minutes.

Do you know if it's easier to replace blades on electric mowers since you don't need to worry about the gas and oil spilling?

Never worked on an electric, but my guess would be yes, you could just flip it over with no spill concerns. When I change the oil on a gas mower I run the gas dry first, drain the oil, then flip it to change the blade. Then I put it upright and add the fluids. Alternatively I put the mower on the bed of my pickup truck on blocks so I can easily work underneath it while keeping it upright. My other method (when up north), is to lift the mower up to an easy working level with the bucket of my tractor and work underneath it from there.

Also I ordered a spare blade from Lowe's.
That way I'm never without.

I haven't needed to sharpen the blades on my Ego mower yet, but when it's time, I'll take them to Wildwood Mower & Saw. I had them sharpen the blades on a couple of Corona pruners that were quite dull after years of use. They charged $5.00, and they are good as new.

For $5. we go to the lawn equip. sales on 466 just W of 301 (about a mile)

Yes, they are on the on 44 and 301. They do it all.

I use a cheap harbor freight grinder ($14 with coupon) tilt my mower up and then grind/sharpen the blades at a 45 degree angle - seems to do the trick
