Zipper care
What is a good oil to put on the golf cart enclosure zippers and snaps?
Candle wax for zips.
I have seen a specific product, and my wife gave me some, when I get home I will post the info
The Villages Golf Cars sells a stick (looks like wax) for zippers.
While not for golf cart zippers per se, I use lip balm to the lube the zippers and snaps on our boat's biminis and mooring covers. Can also use it on soft-sided coolers if you have the tightly zipping ones like Arctic, Yeti, Orca, etc. Been doing it for years, works great!
Go to Dollar General, buy the cheapest lip balm (unflavored preferably) you can find. If not, then original Chapstick in the black tube is fine. Pretend the zipper teeth are like lips and just drag the lip balm along them. Then run the zippers along the teeth back and forth a couple times to work it in. If using the balm on snaps, just push the tube balm into the snap and then the snap enclosure and twist. Piece of cake, and cheap. |
Benefit?
What exactly is the benefit of balming the zippers and snaps? Does it provide some sort of weather protection? This inquiring mind wants to know....
