Hogeye Preserve disc golf course

Where do I park my car for the new disc golf course? From my parking spot, how do I get to the course?

At the softball complex about 1/4 mile from Everglades Rec. Center- I think it's off of Marsh Bend Trail

I would NOT park near the softball fields. From that location, you would have to walk along the MMP to reach the disc golf course, and that would be a horrifying walk.

I suggest parking near Edna's and walk along the Hogeye path to reach the disc golf course.

Six of one....

It's at the end of the north loop of the Hogeye pathway where it joins the MMP. Not sure which is closer, Edna's parking lot or the softball/Everglades lots.

Don't listen to the naysayer about walking along the MMP from the Everglades area. There are lots of walkers along that trail and lots of grassy areas on the side should you feel closed in!

Drive to Marsh Bend by way of Morse to Warm Springs
Take a right on Marsh Bend trail at the lights
Drive past the Everglades rec center on the right and the second entrance will be the soft ball complex.

After parking your car, facing the softball fields, walk to the right/east to get up on the MMP, take a left and walk slightly down hill towards the hog eye.

After going over the bridge and the gator habitat, (the swamp) the disc golf course is on your left.

Disagree. I drive my golf cart through that part almost every day. Plenty of people walk that MMP, it's certainly safer than most. That part of the MMP has plenty of room to step aside for golf carts except for the one small bridge.

Still would be better to take a golf cart there though as there's parking right near the disc golf first tee box.

There is parking right by the disc course off the MMP that runs along the turnpike. From the Water Lilly bridge it is the first parking lot you come up to and from the softball fields it would be the second lot.

They are asking about CAR parking. You are giving directions to a Golf Cart Parking lot only!

Is it open? I thought there were still signs on the gates saying closed.

It was announced in a CDD meeting last week that it opened on 1/17. I haven't been past there to see this for myself.

It’s Open

Edna's parking just got smaller due to the new building.

This should be interesting.

A public disc golf course on what is or dare I say USED to be a beautiful nature preserve walk.

Why???

"FOUR" (Guess we can read another totv thread about a gator attack when someone is in the muck looking for their disc... oops.)

It was a pretty good answer as there is NO car access to the once nature preserve. Edna's or baseball field car lot and walk. .. unless of course they are going to build a car lot... "if you build it, they will come".

Funny, disc golf IS about the walk...

What a waste on beautiful preserved land. First of all this place is nothing but a swamp with a little rain. You can’t drive to it without your golf cart and walking either direction is at least 1/2 mile. What the heck were they thinking when they decided to do this? Or is it just to spend more amenities money. Now this place must be maintained for the VERY few people who will use it……. SMH *♂️

It will be a fun nature activity for the high school kids down at Middleton... after all, where will they see nature? It's all been removed out their way. Need some decoy ducks in the ponds down that way.

When is the hunting club going to be represented in the Hogeye Preserve? Asking for a friend.
