PGA Travelers Protesters

On the 18th hole today of the Travelers, protesters swarmed the 18th hole and spread a red and white power substance on the green. Watching and listening on television it was an unbelievable scene. Scottie Scheffler went on to win in a playoff over Tom Kim.

The only way to deter these protestors is to give them a prison sentence instead of a slap on wrist.

tophcfa 06-23-2024 05:28 PM

What were the friggin morons protesting? They should get life in prison for defacing a golf course!

Who else is so tired of Protests???

Watching the men’s PGA today. And the stupidity of about 4 protestors storming the 18th green. With smoke bombs and paint powder. Fortunately police took charge and corralled them and took them off in handcuffs. Climate change protestors.

They had to delay the tournament with the 3 pros aghast. Had to clean up the mess. And eventually install a new hole for the Playoff due to damage.

I hope they arrest these fools and throw the book at them.

I, for one, — so sick and tired of these protests.

They will not throw the book at them. That is the problem.

They were from Extinction Rebellion, an activist group with a history of disrupting events around the world. In a statement emailed to The Associated Press, the group blamed climate change for an electrical storm that injured two people at a home near the course on Saturday.

Some were wearing tee shirts with the words NO GOLF ON A DEAD PLANET.

I read that the NYC DA, Alvin Braggs, is dropping charges against most of the protestors that took over the building at Columbia University.

Outrage as Manhattan DA Bragg’s office drops nearly all cases from Columbia University’s anti-Israel protest

"Have to love this.

Apparently on their way out, a drunk fan ran up to one of the protesters and gave him a upper cut to the jaw. The protester was immediately knocked out. "

Buy that guy a beer. Hopefully the security personnel shook his hand and let him go.

Yes, because physical violence of one civilian against another is the obvious solution to vandalism and trespassing on a golf course.

Absolutely barbaric. I hope the bunch of them end up in jail. The protesters and whoever decided that they had the right to punch one of them.

What better way to protest our carbon footprint than to destroy the plush green landscape of a golf course whose vegetation is removing carbon from the atmosphere? Duh

That's one way to go. The other would be for the police to just shoot the vandals and save the taxpayers the cost of prosecution. Might make others think about their belief in a climate change fantasy.

They must have seen our executive courses.

I would suggest that those who are susceptible to being brainwashed by the fantasy of anthropomorphic climate change are stupid enough deface a golf course. The truly indoctrinated generally have no boundaries---for example, Jim Jones' People's Temple. And they say Villagers have drunk the Kool-Aid. :1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:
