Replace the bedroom carpet with vinyl plank ?

Hi All,
I am a newcome, scheduled to close on my new house 09/24/24.

I would like to replace the carpet that the builder installed in the two bedrooms with the same vinyl plank the buider installed for the rest of house before my new furniture scheduled to be delivered on 09/25/24.

Has any one done this before ? Can someone recommend a flooring guy ?

Check with The Villages Warranty Department. They can provide the name of the original flooring company and the exact product name and color.

We are thinking of replacing our bedroom carpet with some sort of vinyl. Only problem is floor can be kind of cold while getting up during the night.

1. slippers
2. area rug alongside bed or a large one under bed
3. suck it up so your spouse can have what she wants.

You are not in New York any more. Floors are warmer here.

How would you expect them to do this between the time you close on 9/24 and the furniture comes on 9/25?
You'd be lucky to have someone available for that short window.

If you find out from the warrant department what the vinyl plank is, Floors of Distinction can get it and do a great job installing it. It's a family owned business in Leesburg that really cares about their customers.

We found Mohawk Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring is actually warmer than tile, and almost as quiet as carpet. We bought this at Lowe's and I did the install myself. This is a 100% vinyl product; it is waterproof, and it cuts with a box cutter or a specialized cutter.
Feel free to send me a PM if you would like to see it or get further info over the phone.

Had Roberto’s install LVP in all bedrooms when we replaced the tile in the living spaces. We have rugs in the rooms too. Happy with the results.

check with the warranty company and get the same flooring. Ours couldn't be done without transition strips so we had the whole house redone. Great Lakes did ours. It was between them and Robertos.

Call warranty or your rep Monday, acquire the floor make model color code.

Your agent can meet with you and flooring rep, to make sure floor will transition. You will want to use the same company as builder. They will have better availability than random companies.
If floor is in stock you may be able to have floors installed on 9/25. They will not schedule on your closing day.
Have all of your furniture dropped in your living area. Floor guys will move your furniture when completed. Good luck

Bonus every business has scale floor plans, for every house. Unless you have a stretch in a spec home which sometimes happens

Bought new last year. Ripped out the cheap rolled vinyl as well as carpet in bedrooms - went with luxury vinyl plank from Roberto’s - very happy and I love my floors.

I did all of ours in our new home before moving the furniture in. I did it myself. It's pretty easy and only requires a few simple tools.
