Don't trust CHEWY for your pets vital Rx

UPDATE:

Chewy was able to send me another Rx for my dog! So it all worked out. I had to talk to a few people but they were really nice and replaced the order.

I get it, it's a mistake on CHEWY so I got through finally online (hours) and frantically asked for them to please send this RX to me as I only had one pill left for his Enepril (sp?) for his heart failure.

Online contact tonight says that his Enepril has not even been shipped yet. So CHEWY representivie says to take him to emergency vet and that CHEWY will "reimburse" me later after I apply my dispute. Lol. Not gonna happen, is it.

Long story short, get your vital pet meds (heart meds, other vital meds) via someone that can deliver for a good price and into your hands asap.

If you need non vital pet meds (tick, or whatever) you're good with CHEWY.

I’ve never had any issues with Chewy and will continue to use them. Sounds like you need to update your account. And how can you let a prescription get down to one pill???? This doesn’t sound like a chewy problem to me

Totally agree, it was the OP fault for not re-ordering earlier.

Just a suggestion, but, when I checked, you can buy anything that Chewy sells from the Amazon website. I always find that Amazon is a better way to make purchases of any type, especially if you have Amazon Prime. They are usually faster, cheaper, and more reliable than other websites.

Some online retailers will market their products on their own website, but they will also offer the same products on Amazon. Whenever I see something I want to buy online, I always check to see if the same product is offered from Amazon.

Chewy has done great for us for almost 10 years now, Rx included.

I just recently had the best experience at Central Florida Veterinary Hospital. After two Vets gouged & upsold me for over 400., Central Florida did everything I had asked - by a Vet, not staff only- and charged me one-third of the other two. (352) 831-3700. They are at 17950 US 441, Unit 103 & open 8-5:30 Mon- Fri. They’re very close to the Villages northern section & were great, fast, very low price, & efficient!

We use Amazon for pet meds, sometimes local pharmacy will fill pet scripts with no issues.

Thank you! I'm also looking for a good vet as we are new to the area.

I have been using Chewy for years. I have had few problems and when I did, they always made good on them. No problem getting anyone on the line.

We have been getting our dog’s refrigerated meds from Chewy for the past two years. Never had a problem even though it’s time and temperature sensitive. They actually ship it in a carefully packed insulated container with ice packs that last for a very long time. We completely trust Chewy and wouldn’t think of going elsewhere.

I am not a regular Chewy customer, but my dog's veterinarian referred me there with a heartworm prescription to try something new since it is a challenge getting my dog to take his Heartgard chewable medication every month. I had a question about all my options, and which flavor do most dogs prefer. The Chewy customer service rep transferred me to their on-staff veterinarian who answered my question and then shipped me one "sample" pill so that I could try it on my picky eater. She also waived the shipping charge that is customary for orders under a certain dollar amount (I think $49). All in all it was a great experience, but it was NOT an emergency. I still had a few months of Heartgard left and the good news is that Mr. Picky likes the chewable alternative to Heartgard that the Chewy veterinarian suggested.

Publix and Walmart also offer pet meds.

Chewy is one of the most professional and caring companies in the business world. Sure mistakes can happen but take some responsibility for waiting till only one pill left.

It's your responsibility to verify ALL the info when purchasing online.
