Keeping small dogs inside wrought iron fencing

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has a solution for keeping small dogs inside wrought iron fencing? Many Verandas with any kind of view have a wrought iron back fence. My dog can run through the wrought iron because of the wide spacing. Anyone have a potential solution?

Thanks!

Cindy

Some neighbors have something like this. It keeps the dog in but not other animals out .

So called "invisible fences" are nonexistent to every creature except your dog, but your dog doesn't know that. It might think it is safe when it isn't. Small and medium size dogs should not be left alone or unsupervised outdoors. Jmho. Good luck.

No idea if it would be allowed (check with ARC), but chicken wire could work, or other types of screening. Plexiglas panels would work, but this would be very expensive.

With all of the various birds of prey flying around I would never leave a small dog outside off leash no matter what kind of fence you have. One day you look out and say to yourself, shoot, my dog got out of the yard, not so, it took a short flight to a large tree house.

Don’t worry, I would never have the dog outside unless I was in the yard with her.

There has been more than one dog snatched by a coyote, eagle with the owner standing just a few feet away. On occasions the pet is leashed when the gator grabs it, dragging the owner a short ways.

Our 5lb Himalayan isn’t allowed in the birdcage alone. While she sits on the upper waterfall, the resident eagle flys over just watching.
It’s the bobcat that paces behind the birdcage, early evenings that gives you pause

Just attach some mosquito netting to your fence, you can purchase it at Lowe's or Home Depot, it's inexpensive and if you want to sell your house it is easy to remove.

Something like this might work and hopefully be virtually invisible.

There is a "pillow like " thing that they would wear
similar to the neck pillows people bring on airplanes. you put it on the dog and they cannot fit through the fence. Don't know what it is called but you can look it up.

Keeping small dogs in wrought iron fencing.

We used screening material for our fence. You can just weave it in and out of the wrought iron posts.

I’ve seen mesh screen or wire attached to the lower inside of the fence. It may be called rabbit fencing for gardens and comes in a roll. I think attaching it with zip ties would work.

Feed the dog more till he won't fit between the uprights

A stake in the center of the lawn with a long leash?
You don't own the metal fence so attaching anything to it is against your deed restrictions

I agree with either the screen or chicken wire suggestions. Which ever you can secure most easily.
