Brownwood Hotel

The Brownwood Hotel seems like a great spot to pick up a shuttle to MCO and TPA. Can you park your car(or cart)there while away without getting ticketed, towed or ticking off hotel management?

No Parking.
From Groome web site

Overnight Parking is Not Available
Violators may have their cars towed at the discretion of The Villages® District Services.

Residential service is offered to and from the Brownwood Hotel Express Depot for an additional fee per passenger.

No - overnight parking is forbidden and posted. So the last few times we used the shuttle we had Groome pick us up at our home to BW. Was $10 each. Hope they still offer that. I had THOUGHT of parking our car nearer to Rt 44, far away from the hotel. But not worth the risk, as they may mark overnight Parker's tires, then tow. Not worth the risk...

They used to pick up at your house and straight to Orlando.

Now they take you to terminal and total trip is much longer.

Few weeks ago got into Orlando at 5 pm, waited on bus and than they decided to go to another terminal for additional pickup and finally home at 8 45.

After traveling all day too long for last 60 or so miles home.

Will switch back to local drivers.

Thanks for the info. Definitely not worth the risk. I just checked Uber and it’s about $10 for a trip from Richmond to the hotel.

I would leave my golf cart anywhere overnight.

An awful time with Groome picking us up at home. They texted and said they would be there at 7:50 and as of 830. They were not there. Our neighbors gratefully took us to Brownwood. I contacted groom and was on the phone for 20 minutes without any contact. Then I wrote them an email which said they would reply to me within 24 to 48 hours. Didn’t happen. I called again and talked with a representative for about 20 minutes. She would not put me in touch with the manager. After getting all of my information, she said that I would get the $10 back and a manager would call me that happened in May as of now I still have not heard from them, did not receive my refund and did not receive receive a call from the manager. It is only $10 but waiting for an hour for them to arrive and then not having them come was very stressful. I would not use them again for personal pick up.

We try to pick a time that will work for neighbors to take us to and from Brownwood. We do the same for them. Bus is usually quicker than the "at your door" service and you cut about an hour, or so, from your pick up time.

Glowfromminnesota 07-01-2025 05:43 AM

Nope. Told by Groome you used to be able to now they will tow your vehicle. We pay the extra 5 bucks to bring us to the hotel.

Billr4644 07-01-2025 07:32 AM

Off site parking with shuttle for as little as $8 a day

Freeda 07-01-2025 07:41 AM

No. Not allowed by the hotel. But for $5 per person each way Groome will pick u up and return u to your hm. That's even better. Your car stays safely garaged while you're away.

I’m convinced you cannot park at the hotel.:duck:

A few weeks ago I was told by a Groome driver that sometime in indefinite future when the East Port depot is open plan is to eliminate the stop at Brownwood.
