Bright Spot

An object has been spotted entering our solar system that MAY be nuclear powered. It appears it will be very close by late October. It’s an interesting article for those who are curious.

“Manhattan-size interstellar object appears to emit its own light: Harvard scientist“

Interstellar object 3I/ATLAS appears to emit its own light: Harvard scientist

Interesting.. I hope there are timely updates as to what the object is traveling through space.

Did you change your post from "solar powered" to "nuclear powered"?

Just asking as the above "Reply" is different from the original.

Normal 08-22-2025 02:07 PM

Yes

Yes, I do apologize for the error. It is “supposed” to be nuclear powered because of its forward emission of light? I don’t know that solar power would necessarily function well as intergalactic travel anyway? The article states nuclear.

V-ger.

Definitely V-ger.

Thank you for explaining

I think I must have been Replying at the exact same time that you were editing, and the system couldn't cope

And we've all made plenty of typos of our own :-)

"Any suggestion that it's artificial is nonsense on stilts, and is an insult to the exciting work going on to understand this object," Chris Lintott, an astronomer at the University of Oxford who was part of the team that simulated 3I/ATLAS's galactic origins, told Live Science.

Ammunition and canned goods, people. Ammunition and canned goods. Oh, and load your tablets with plenty of unwatched movies.

I don't perceive the New York Post as a credible source.

Here’s an article from NASA…

Heh. You'd sell a lot of them in some parts but probably not here. TV'ers don't necessarily strike me as the tinfoil hat type.

Interesting though how some people seem to fall for this type of thing. Remember the "face" on Mars? There was even a movie, "Mission to Mars" that incorporated a giant face (real, this time around) left by former Martians who seemed to want humans to find it and follow them to the galaxy they went to after Mars became uninhabitable. Not a very good movie but with some pretty good visual effects, one of them being Connie Nielson who looks great even with all her clothes on. And then of course there were those twin "lights" seen on the surface of Ceres, which some people swore was solid evidence of an extraterrestrial intelligence, but which turned out to be a couple of highly reflective surfaces close to one another.

Of course there is also Youtube which, if they haven't already, will show "proof" by self-styled experts that this rock or collection of rubble is really the Mother Ship returning for whatever (usually nefarious) reason.

Should be fun to watch though as this thing gets closer.

Ptmcbriz 08-23-2025 07:03 AM

Oh Lordy I sure hope it’s artificial. Unfortunately, they will just turn around and leave when they see how bat-s&$@-crazy humans are…

I have my own proof they are already here. I spent many a night up in the Sierras looking at the night sky with my telescope. I’ve seen some weird stuff out there. Yes, I took photos. MUFON has them. Some of the more interesting is when a ball of colorful gas/plasma morphs into a ship right in front of your eyes and then seconds later morphs back into a plasma light ball (essentially mimicking a star in the night sky). The ship was tilted so I could see its top and sides but not its underside. It only stayed a solid for about a count of 5 seconds. Something you NEVER forget.

Before you ask why hasn’t the proof been reported, it has many times even public reports by astronauts. However, the government doesn’t believe people are ready for definitive proof. It would cause mass hysteria. Just note how many of you immediately jumped to the conclusion that if it were artificial, that they were nefarious. Not one of you jumped to the conclusion that a highly intelligent species arrival could be friendly and benefit mankind. That’s exactly why there never be enough “proof” provided. Negative hysteria.
