Dentist you Love who takes FEP Blue
Don't want to go to corporate types like Aspen, Sage, etc. Seeking an office with a dentist that you LOVE. Thanks!
Yes. I know I can look up who takes my insurance- I'm seeking recommendations. |
My wife is on FEP Blue and goes to Gary Cardozo, (352) 728-2639.

Family Dentistry Dr. Althos is excellent.

We have been very happy with Sumter Landing dental. Mostly cleanings but also 2 successful implants.

I guess "FEP Blue" refers to Blue Cross Blue Shield from the Federal Government.
We have that insurance and Concordia dental insurance. We have used Palm Ridge Dental for the last 9 years and have been very pleased. Our insurance covers about 30% of the cost. |

If you just have the medical insurance, the premiums are subsidized by the Federal Government (about 72 percent) and it does include a minimum amount of dental coverage, but not enough to cover your dental bills. My dentist files the claims for this, and the reimbursement comes directly to me, not the dentist. The dentist doesn't actually participate in this insurance. FEP Blue also offers a dental plan, but none of the premium cost is subsidized by the Federal Government, and you need to find an in-network dentist who will accept the insurance. Personally, I don't recommend having any dental insurance, unless someone else is paying at least part of the premiums. |

My Dental Touch
Dr Dhanani aligns with my hometown dentist and does not recommend unnecessary procedures like the chain dentist in the area (deep cleanings). You will need to call and ask about the insurance.

My understanding is that Sumter Dental Care is not taking any new patients.
My husband and I each have Florida Blue. We go to Summerfield Dental on 27/441 across from Walmart. I wasn’t pleased with their office staff initially because they didn’t file claims correctly. But they have changed management and office staff and are much improved. They have a fairly new dentist (Dr Nassif) after the previous one got married and moved away. Recently, I had a filling to come out/broken tooth. They got me in the next morning and Dr. Nassif repaired it. He was very gentle, compassionate and explained everything to me. |
Avoid 352 Dentist at all costs. Dr Julia German lied to me about my dental health. This place is a scam.

We found the FEP Blue dental portion of the insurance next to worthless with very little coverage. We bought the dental supplement this year (Concordia) and now have much better coverage and don't even bother using the FEP Blue for dental visits. The additional cost for Concordia almost pays for the amount we had to pay from FEP Blue's poor dental coverage.

The cost for the dental insurance is minimal and is easily offset by the out of pocket portion one would pay if one used just the FEP Blue. |
I don’t have dental insurance. I have a discount plan. My dentist in Atlanta told me at my age, the cost/benefit was better with the discount.
That said, I see Dr. Kelly at Grand Traverse Dental. She is fair and not an alarmist. |
