"The Birthers Eat Their Own"
This is a very amusing article from the (ooo, a liberal site) Washington Post.
Basically, it is one of the "be careful about what you wish for" items. It concerns two Tea Party favorites, Marco Rubio and Bobby Jindahl. http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinio...43L_story.html |

I also didn't know WAPO was considered to be part of the people who are known as "the birthers"?, as evidenced by your phrase "eating their own". |
Where's Oily Taits when you need her?
Piyush had his 15 minutes - he'll never be more than the governor of the poorest, most illiterate state in the nation. Meanwhile, Rubio has been busy updating his biography in an attempt to cover the lies he has been spewing about himself. You can't make this stuff up............. |

Only two things in this world are proven facts.
1. Flys will never stop leaving fly poop on your windows. 2. Politicans will never stop lying. |
Richie, I actually never heard of The Washington Post callled WAPO - and I lived there and read the Post for over 38 years. How 'bout that? Something new every day.
Of course, the Post is not in the birther group. Their opinion writer even state it is absurd to think those ridiculous claims would stop either Rubio or Jindal from being President or Vice-President. Those were claims by some of the "birthers" saying why Obama was not a natural-born citizen - but the "birthers" had not made mention of Jindal or Rubio. Sort of the good for the goose scenario, I guess. As for attacking Rubio, there is the situation where Rubio did lie about his parents fleeing to the US when Castro came to power. "The absurd accusations of the birthers by themselves won’t stop Jindal or Rubio from becoming president. There are far more serious impediments in their way — most recently a devastating report by The Post’s Manuel Roig-Franzia proving false the central narrative of Rubio’s political rise: that he is the son of exiles who fled Cuba under Castro. In fact, his parents left the island, apparently for economic reasons, 21 / 2 years before Castro came to power." Rubio does seem to be a decent family man but that is a pretty powerful lie and may hurt his future in politics. It will be interesting to see if and how he might change that claim. |
Bill Clinton lied his whole life. Never hurt his political rise.

Well, Rubio has changed his official biography already.
"The 40-year-old freshman senator has always publicly identified with the exile community and has a strong following within it. In a campaign ad last year, he said: "As the son of exiles, I understand what it means to lose the gift of freedom." Rubio's biography on his Senate website previously said he was "born in Miami to Cuban-born parents who come to America following Fidel Castro's takeover." It has been changed to say Rubio "was born in Miami in 1971 to Cuban exiles who first arrived in the United States in 1956." But The Washington Post reported that Rubio's parents actually left Cuba in 1956, nearly three years before Castro seized power in a revolution against dictator Fulgencia Batista. Rubio's father was a store security guard when he and his wife left, according to Rubio's staff, and came to the U.S. for economic reasons." ________________________ I have no problem with anyone coming to the country legally to better their life and I applaud Rubio's family for having the courage to do that. However, Marco should have said that in the first place instead of lying about it. He had nothing to gain by that big lie. Is this going to hurt his political life? Who knows - but it will be brought up in the future for sure. |
Read the Constitution concerning "nature born citizen." None of the three meet that requirement. This country needs to start follow the letter of the law concerning the constitution. Enough is enough.

So, Village Golfer, you do not believe that Tea Party favorites Marco Rubio or Bobby Jindal are constitutionally qualified to be be President because their parents were not born in the USA? We know your feeling and opinion on President Obama.

buggyone, neither do I and I support the TEA party. Part of supporting the TEA party platform is to follow the constitution. Since neither of the three's parents, both sides, mother and father, where US citizens at the time of their birth, they are not qualified, according to the constitution to be Pres or Vice Pres. You really need to get out more.
BTW, when you are going to answer the other post about the re-qual requirements of CCW holders here in Florida? Just wondering. |
