Villagers wearing shorts on a cold day

It's about 46 degrees outside and I just saw a Villager(?) wearing shorts. Either he's a very hardy fellow, vacationing from up north, or he has Alzheimer's. My father had Alzheimer's and lost his ability to dress appropriately for both hot and cold weather. The other possibility is that he only packed clothes for warm weather because someone told him it's warm year-round in FL..

Do you ever wonder about people who wear summer clothing in winter weather?

Give him a few years and he will be in long pants once the temp drops below 50

Villagers wearing shorts on a cold day

Having lived in TV for seven years, my observations regarding people wearing shorts on cold days (like today) - newly arrived renters, snowbirds, guests and a rare fulltimer determined they will not wear long pants again.

I saw more than one man in shorts today.

I saw every soul who had previously been north of the Mason Dixon line at Walmart and Publix just now.

They nearly mowed me down.

How could I have been a snowbird this time last year?

They aren't like Frogs at all!

46 degrees is even cold for people in the northeast. :cold:

Possibly a hearty fellow but I know I always pack one pair of long pants when visiting in FL just in case.

I've waited all summer to get these cooler temps........I wear shorts year round and love it! :coolsmiley: Summer is the worse for me.....hot and humid for months.

I'm from up north & my shorts came out only when it was 50 or above! Down here it has to be 65 or above!

We know a fellow our age back in NY that wore his shorts even if it were 10 degrees out with a foot of snow on the ground and loved it. We all referred to him as "shorts" when we spoke about him!

I have lived here 16 yrs and this is something I have pondered about many times we have some cold weather true it does not last long,, but when the cold comes you see men walking around in short the women are wearing long pants this goes on many places I surely do not understand this.

Not as shocking as NYC where you see dozens of young women wearing micro-mini skirts and peep-toe shoes in the snow!

That reminds me of when I was in middle school in CT. A friend of mine would sometimes wet his hair and then walk to school in freezing weather. Then he would invite other kids to touch his hair. And, of course, it was frozen! I never did that but I never wore a hat either. None of us "tough" guys ever wore hats because it wasn't cool. Kids, at a certain age, will kill themselves to prove they are tough.
