Toojays does a pretty good job!

Everybody raves about Gandolfo's Deli on 466. Inside of the restaraunt is all New York-themed. Probably can't go wrong there for your NY visitors.

I have an idea - before they head down here have them stop by Fine and Shapiro's for some corned beef sandwiches to go. (Make sure they bring one for me.)

Other than that I think Toojays is the best around.

I love TooJays but I also think that Hacienda Hills makes a very good corned beef and pastrami sandwich.

I usually flip-flop between the two.

I put myself through college managing one of the best Jewish delis in Miami so I am somewhat of a deli snob (I'm a big fan of Zabars and the 2nd Avenue Deli in NY), but Toojays does a pretty good job for a "chain" deli. I enjoy eating there because it brings back great memories (and because they serve Cel-Ray soda!).

So in keeping with the TOTV tradition, let's change this thread from the original request for a good local deli.

Where is your favorite deli?

Junior's in Los Angeles for me.

Katz's deli on Houston street for pastrami or corned beef sandwich. For hot dogs and knishes my favorites are still Nathans in Coney Island and Shatzkins Knishes (not there anymore) a few doors down. All washed down with a Dr. Browns Black Cherry Soda!!! Oh yeah...my grandmothers house on Kissena Blvd in Brooklyn for Matzoh Ball soup and Perogan and Kugle!!

I agree with you. When does the next bus leave.....

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think HE should be bringing YOU a fantastic NY deli sandwich. Can you ever beat a wonderful corned beef sandwich from NY? We love Carnegie Deli. Yum. Only problem is three bites and I'm too full to finish it. It's as big as my head. ;)

there's nothing quite like a corned beef sandwich that looks more like an architectural tribute!

aside from carnegie's and Katz's delis there are so many good neighborhood delis in NY that it's never a problem getting good CB or Pastrami.

Good Deli

I'm not knocking on Too Jays at all but for the best Corned Beef or Pastrami Sandwich in the Villages you need to try Gandolfo's on 466 in Southern Trace Plaza. Their pastrami sandwiches are HUGE and loaded with meat.Plenty to take home for later. Plus they have the same pickles that used to be served at the Carnegie Deli in NY. Definitely one of our favorites.

Gandolfo's gets my vote also.Sandwiches are huge. A half one is plenty.
