Fastest Route From TV To Orlando Airport...
I have to take an unexpected trip to Boston and will be flying out of Orlando. Since I have only lived here for a short time, I'm not yet familiar with the Orlando area. What's the fastest route from TV to Orlando International?

27/441 south for about 21 miles, Florida Turnpike South, rte 528 east. That's the way I go. I don't know of anything faster.

Take the Village Airport Van - no worries about finding the airport or parking.

We always take the Florida Turnpike, too. An hour and 15 minutes later, we're there. Easy!

Depends on where you live and time of day. Lots of traffic lights on 27. if you go during high traffic hours it will be time consuming. The farther South you live going through Wildwood to the Turnpike gets better and better. If you can get someone to take you to the bus station in LSL travel time could be shorter. The Village Van could weave around picking up other customers and take the longest. Lots of choices.

No matter what area of TV I lived in .... I would avoid 441/27 south thru Leesburg and the traffic ..... and find my way to 301.
Then south on 301 (thru Wildwood) to the Fla Turnpike, east to Orlando and exit on 528, east to the airport. BTW, 528 is a toll road and is among the most expensive per mile in the country. However, ANY other option thru Orlando to the airport is a disaster. 528 does accept ez pass. |
Between the tolls and the parking I have to believe the Van is your best deal.

I completely agree wi Lndlocked.
The turnpike/528 route is fast, direct, and stress-free from time-consuming stop/go traffic and congestion. The only thing it is not is free but that trade-off is worth it to me. Once on 301 from anywhere in TV, it is just a few (spaced-apart) stoplights to the turnpike. Then, a non-stop drive (except for toll booth slow downs) at highway speed direct to 528, and then zip directly east a few more miles to the airport. |
Many thanks for all of your answers!

Another vote for avoiding 441/27 at all costs. During the end of day rush hour going south, it can take two complete cycles of the lights to get through an intersection.

If you make the trip frequently--For those familiar with Fruitland Park there is a shortcut that avoids all of the lights. Unfortunately I don't recall the name of the street but you turn on a yellow flashing light off of 466a in Fruitland Park - I think it's route 468 (?) which connects to 44 to 27. It is fewer miles and usually faster than going to Wildwood if you live on the eastern side of The Villages. Perhaps someone has better instructions. You also save a turnpike toll.
