speed limit enforcement

Yesterday (9-26) there were 3 deputies doing speed control on bailey trail, 2 cars 1 motorcycle. They were just getting ready to leave when I stopped to ask about enforcement of speed along cart paths of morse and Buena vista. All 3 agreed they as far as speed goes, they are not allowed to monitor. Alcohol, reckless driving but as 1 of them said, an officer driving down both of those busy roads can hardly watch the road and observe the paths safely. Like I could tell a pepsi can from a miller lite can 1 observed.

there just is not enough of it.....and I think they should put in a multiplier for repeat offenders...something like doubling or tripling whatever the last fine was.

The more the better.

Whatever...

One of my golfing friends was ticketed in her golf cart on Bailey yesterday morning. Everyone needs to drive at 21 or below or you might just get an expensive ticket and court visit. No fun!

21? Why not 19.9?

Someone passed 3 golf carts on Bailey Trail, (going very fast), a few months ago and there was the man with the speed gun and pulled her over. If you need to get somewhere that fast, take your car.

I find it entertaining that a RETIRED person would be in such a hurry as to get a speeding ticket in a golf cart!:1rotfl:

And it will be shorter for some if these speeders are not stopped.

what does being retired have to do with being in a hurry?

DonH57 09-28-2013 08:25 AM

Despite retirement some people opt to continue their tradition of waiting to late to get to their next destination or try to schedule to much to do in one day.

Friendliest Hometown??

They call this Florida's Friendliest Hometown? I must respectively disagree with that. You have many people that want their fellow Villagers to get a ticket for speeding in a Golf cart. I say so what?---Get a life! Lets see. We are mad at people speeding in their cart. Passing with their cart. Following people too close through the gate. Playing golf too slow. Saving seats at the square. Hogging parking spaces at the square. I could go on forever. I suggest if things are really that bad here, I would get back on 95 Northbound and go back to your Utopia where you came from. If you decide to stay, chill out and enjoy the life. If the worst thing that happens to me today is someone exceeding the speed limit and passing me in my cart, I think I had a great day!:beer3:

People are allowed to feel what they feel, and they're allowed to express that here without being told to leave. This is what a forum is for. You're supposed to express your opinions, albeit civilly.

billethkid 09-28-2013 12:05 PM

the subject has nothing to do with chilling out or not being chilled or whatever the expression is meant to imply.

It is perfectly normal for those of us who obey the law want to see the abusers get nailed and pay a hefty fine or fines....and how much more relaxed can one be to be happy to tears if we are lucky enough to witness the ticketing:)
