I pick Justin Thomas to win. I'll be rooting for Tiger and Phil. I think golf is a game and not a sport because you only need to be able to walk to play the game as it is intended to be played. It's neither an aerobic or anaerobic activity. just an opinion, not a fact

Somebody better alert every sports broadcast and sports app in the world to remove golf!!

Masters

I would like to see both Phil and Tiger on the leaderboard. It will get the young guns taking notice.

While I'm going to have to go with Rahm or DJ for the win, along with Bubba... :agree: with the rest of your post.

A friend just got back from attending a practice round at the Masters and said that it is definitely a workout with the elevations and distance (7400 yards).

It's an old debate.

"The earliest appearance of the quip that QI has discovered was in a 1903 book about lawn tennis. The players of this sport are the traditional adversaries of golfers in the field of recreation. Individual chapters of this book were written by different authors. The author of the second chapter, H. S. Scrivener, attributed the saying to fellow players named the Allens. Boldface has been added to excerpts: 2

… my good friends the Allens … one of the best of their many excellent dicta is that “to play golf is to spoil an otherwise enjoyable walk.”

Not a great day for Tiger so far. Could have been worse. I thought he was getting in real trouble when he sunk it off the tee on 12.

One certainly would think he was the leader the way they covered him.

Plus 3 and they have a live telecast interview.....really....BS!
Completely ignoring all the others who are page one leaders.

Undeserved focus.

Amazing to hear the opinions of couch potatoes on whether golf pros are athletes or not. Not sure how many here have actually been to Augusta National, I was there last year, it is a workout just being a spectator. The elevation changes and hills you climb are not evident on TV. When you can carry 300 yards with your driver we'll talk.

RE: Tiger coverage. Get over it. He is a superstar, TV coverage is sold by ratings, Tiger boosts ratings.

What happened to Sergio Garcia - Ouch!...And he is going to have to stick around until Sunday as well.

Jordan Spieth will win...Every other tournament is just practice for The Masters for him :)

I love watching these great players. Amazing skills and they are indeed athletes. You have to use a lot of strength, power and stamina to hit with the precision they do from every conceivable lie. Then, after that, to calm their breathing and adrenaline down to hit a precise putt is amazing. Witness the LPGA last weekend. 8 "overtime" holes to win! Anyway, would love to see Tony Finau win after that freak injury at the Par 3 contest when he hit a hole in one. Enjoy!

The superstar, coverage, ratings part is spot on. But I think you need to get over it...not everybody likes it and they're allowed to say so.

Of course they are allowed to not like it. I am also allowed to tell them to get over it, cuz it's not going to change as long as Tiger draws more eyeballs.
