We've eaten takeout from the Chinese restaurant in Colony Plaza for the past 10 years and always enjoyed our meals and never had any food poisoning. Also the helpings are so large that we can usually make a second meal from them.

I went to Fujiyama last night for takeout and was very disappointed in the quality of the food!!!

Villagevip 01-03-2018 01:11 PM

Whut!,.. No mention of China Buffet, South Trace Plaza on 466.....?

Chatbrat 01-03-2018 01:25 PM

Fujiyama is a clone of Colony--sorry excuse for quality Chines/oriental food--would not trust any sushi/sashimi there--health reasons--very risky

We've lived in the neighborhood for ten years but have never tried China Buffet
(mainly because it seems there is never anyone eating there.)
Do you recommend China Buffet?

We were there about six years ago but it seems to have changed owners since then. I thought it was OK back then.

However Chengs Chinese Food on CR 466 got a decent rating.

How about Hong Kong Tea Gardens in Morristown, Rocco Pizzeria in Madison. The Afton Inn in Florham Park and The Fifty Yard Line in Chatham? All you had to do was ask and they would let you hang with their chef for a while. There were several in Mendham & Rods Steak House in Convent Station couldn't be beaten.

No,not really, just convineient to my area for take out, Glenbrook...
I have had my doubts about the place.. Orange chicken tough and stringy, mushy veggies, on and on.....Tried Koyame for the first time from this tread(never heard, seen it before)...Koyame fans are right, T.Y., Fresh clean quality..Open kitchen, a plus...Worth the trip to Koyames, for take outs..

P.S. About the open kitchen, Koyame would do itself a favor, if the chefs sported professional cooking attire, and chef hats....Hoodies, T-shirts and bare heads, does not do anything for the ambiance, appetite, or serious culinary sanitary standards....

The Fifty Yard line became a Charlie Browns, Sammy's Te Old Coder Mill's steaks IMHO were as good as Peter Lugers==Dennis Foy had a great French Restaurant in Chatham--and sandwiches @ Charlies Aunt--The Black Horse Inn & The Public House were great examples of fine dining, too

Really miss the casual elegance of those places--

Bare: I would suggest that it might be easier to pick one and try it regardless of reviews as what others like, you might not. I know this isn't terribly efficient but, for example, a couple we know loves Cheng's however I ate there and you couldn't pay me to go back. We feel that Bamboo Bistro is the better of the Chinese restaurants in The Villages, others prefer Koyame, Chengs, etc. Good luck!

I'm hoping that this is sarcasm.

We ate there once a long time ago and it was the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Then they were shut down because of unsanitary conditions and supposedly opened under new management so we decided to try it again. It was no different the second time.

I know there are some people that are not a fan of buffets. Some are pretty good and some not so good. This one is simply awful.

Evergreen was pretty good but decided to eschew the buffet route and become a full service restaurant. The food is very good, but I still prefer Koyame.

I really like Koyame and Bamboo Bistro, but China Buffet is in my neighborhood.
I don't really like buffets so that is probably why I haven't tried China Buffet.
And the fact that China Buffet is usually almost empty makes me wary.
And also their health violations, scare me. But a new broom sweeps clean. Doesn't it?
