Neither one concerns me. I think Darrell‘s is one of the best breakfast places in the villages. Really good food and priced very moderately. If you don’t like them go somewhere else! Easy!

One begets the other. Today, a restaurant must be squeaky clean to even be open for 25% occupancy to avoid virus infections between customers. To flunk, after being closed for so long says there’s a management problem.

From Darrell himself

From Darrell email to me: I do see how disturbing this sounds, Although I can assure you that it is made to sound worse than it actually was.
We use a RTU (ready to use) sanitizer for our tables and food service areas. One of our servers made up some vinegar water in an empty bottle to clean windows with and did not properly change the label but was not using that for sanitation purposes.
The thing that they do not post is the very next day when the inspector returned it was graded 100% with Zero violations.

Darryl is a good guy hires mostly felons and druggies.

At last a sane comment , compared to the “Hair on Fire” from the ones that have only had experience of eating a restaurant.

I eat at the Pinella Plaza Location. The management is super, food is great and staff pays attention to their customers.

These are minor violations and can be fixed in minutes.

Us too, used to seeing grades in the windows back in Calif. Has always bothered us here that they are not posted. Wish it was the rule in every state.

Was there yesterday still my favorite place to go

noslices1 09-30-2020 06:58 AM

I had breakfast at Darrell’s diner in Pinellas Plaza last week. Best breakfast burrito I’ve had in a long time. The place was clean and the servers all had masks, so I shall be back.

I won’t be meeting you —never liked Darrell’s anyway

COVID — food poisoning is yucky but it doesn’t kill you, I’m 88 years old —good chance I’d die from COVID
