I held a state sanitarian certification for years and I was often called on by state health inspectors when there were sanitation issues.
I can tell you that it is the job of the inspector to find issues, they could be horsndous and glaring or hidden and subtle, but they will find violations. I have not seen the report, but most of this seems to be just a day to day violation. Are you really going to stop eating there because the employee hand sink was out of soap? Do you know that most of those sinks are there because the laws require it? Most employees don’t use THAT sink. That sink was not useable because there were items in it? Yes, because it is a quick place to place things for later resolution, because nobody uses that sink. Sure other things were more serious, but these are really not an issue and most were likely resolved before the inspector left. |
Keep them shut down and fines heavily. Inexcusable.

What bothers me mostly are the political signs at most of their locations. They have every right to hang them, and I have every right to go elsewhere.

Anyone surprised by the poor sanitation problems at Darells has never eaten there. It’s dangerous place to eat. Hold the mayo, please!

I like Darrels!

Tried the one on 441 a few years back. Food was too salty to eat.

I'll never go because of those awful political signs outside his restaurants
|
BOY! I'll bet those political signs outside make the food really taste lousy.
I went to Darrell's at Spanish Springs this morning for breakfast . Had the usual, eggs, bacon, homefries with onions and a biscuit and coffee. It was great as always. I go there about three times a week. There's NOTHING there that is bad for you. Only good food, good employees, and a good time.:icon_wink: |
We went to Darrells at Pinellas. All was good, service was very good. I have to admit, I didn't notice any political signs.
|
My favorite breakfast place. Am there in Pinella's place several times a week. If you want to pay twice as much, go across the street to First Watch. If you;re a Waffle House person or a Northeast Diner person, Daryll's is a short drive away for most Villagers. I'm guessing most people that are "staying away" have never been there. I've gotten sick after dining in some upscale places, never at Daryll's or a Waffle House)
