That's your opinion. But it isn't the law. And establishments (such as restaurants, fast-food chains, supermarkets, doctor's offices, department stores, phone company offices, etc etc etc) reserve the RIGHT to not allow pets - whether controlled or otherwise. That is THEIR right. You have the right to not go to these places, and they have the right to not let your pet through their doors.

Service animals are TRAINED to behave. That's an actual thing. Pets might, or might not be trained to behave. You don't get to find out until after the damage is done.

If all of this bothers you, stay home. You're allowed to, that is your right. Or you can go and be bothered by it. That is also your right. What you don't have the right to do, is bring your pet into any building owned or rented by someone other than you. That would be a privilege granted to you by the owner/tenant.

The establishments you mention cannot prevent the entry of a "certified" service dog --THAT is against the law.
They can prevent you from entering but not the dog!

There is no such thing as a "certified" service dog. The dog owner can self-train and self-certify a service dog, and no one can dispute them. There are no organizations who can certify a service dog, although some organizations claim that they can for a fee. The ADA Act does not require any dog owner to provide any written evidence that their service dog is trained or certified. That is the problem with the Federal law.

Ouch. Been going to the one in Spanish Springs. Wish I didn’t hear this.

Leave your dog at home when you’re going out to a restaurant , period.

Nobody gets to tell anybody else what to do. If a restaurant allows dogs and one doesn't like it, one gets to stay away.

Thanks for the REPLY! Sad that many people use these helpful opportunities to vent. They just can't wait to express their obviously more important opinions! 😅

Are there any restaurants that allow dogs to join our friends for dinner
when they visit? Patio areas in the squares? Country clubs?[/QUOTE

Just a question as to why your dog should accompany you to dinner??
They are not your children .

When I spent time in France, some finer restaurants permitted well behaved dogs but not children. :D
