Got there around 4:30 and by 6:00 there was a 40 minute wait. You could tell it wasn't high season crowded but still busy.

Great food and service. Have been there almost weekly. Best to go about 4:30 before the crowd. However, usually room at the bar until your table is ready. Last time there, a pontoon plane landed. Many folks on boats pull up for dinner. Great sunsets also.
You're going to love the place.

The place was so quiet for so many years that neighbors never anticipated the current crowd and noise. Many homes now have "For Sale " signs.

Why are many of the piers in the area 10 foot above the water - is the lake that low?

Yes, most lakes in Florida are that low.

Sadly, that is pretty much the norm for every lake in central and north Fla

Lake is 4 feet below normal, but all lakes are much better than 6 years ago.....

Arranged for their shuttle and went with a large group on Sunday evening. Seated promptly, excellent service and the food (as usual) was outstanding!

Sounds great. How do you arrange for their shuttle? Thanks.

"Shuttle Bus service available for parties between 10 and 14 people. Our friendly driver 'Tony' will pick up your group up and bring you to the restaurant and then take you back when you are ready. Call the restaurant for more information or to reserve the shuttle for your party."

Thanks Ecuadog. Sounds like a plan.

Went Sunday night, got there about 4:30 and had about a 30 min wait. Started off with the fried green tomatoes which were excellent! I had the shrimp and grits...delicious but would have preferred some more texture to it, got kind of boring. Hubby had shrimp creole which he liked, added some hot sauce. Staff was very attentive and worked well together. Can't wait to go back!
:mmmm:
