Exactly.

Our group waits to approach the hostess until we are there, all of us.

We will wait at the golf course until all are almost finished before going to the restaurant.

Most of us carry water or drinks in our cart.

Last time at Cane (2 weeks ago) waited till all were present before seating also same at Bonifay with a group of more than 4 people. Guess the op hasn't been there recently or goes alone.

It would seem that it would be of paramount importnce for any eatery to want to accomodate their customers so that they would have a pleasant eating experience (repeat business). Cleaning an area while customers are still eating seems a bit obsessive and the only time reasonable is if there was some sort of accidental spill. Also it would seems unnecessary, annoying and counter-productive to keep customers in a holding pattern until everyone is off the course owing to the impossible logistics the eatery may have created for themselves.

In that same vein, it would seem if a customer did not want a drink, teas, beer, etc then why not simply ask for water with a slice of lemon. It is poor judgement in my view to ask for water and then add your own adult kool aid.

It would also seem beneficial to one's health that rather than getting emotional or upset concerning dislikes that one simply vote with their feet and not return. After all this is simply a business transaction between you and the eatery. if it doesn't work out well it doesn't work out.

our experience over many years and many, many places is there are more eating establishments from mediocre to fine that will seat guests of as members of the party arrives.

Supposedly the few that do not are more interested in the effort that may be required by a server when all are not present. But that is what they are there for and good servers know how to work a table like that and earn a bigger tip.

We would not go to any golf stablishment that will not serve a large after golf group. It telegraphs their priority is not their constituency which is the golfer/customer.

CAn you vizualize going to a more upscale type country club and be told you cannot be seated or order a drink until the rest of your party arrives? I can't and have never ever experienced it.

Order was taken and food came out quickly. While we were eating a waitress started sweeping the floors while we were eating. I politely asked if she could wait till we were done eating as it was dusty. She answered, sorry, but, we need to get this room cleaned up. I said ok, but, I do not wanting you sweeping while I am eating.. She rudely throw the broom to the ground and walked away. After about 7 minutes she came back and started sweeping a gain. I was appalled! I sent an email to the manger and never heard back... Have not been there since, will I go again.. I really do not know...

Next time speak to the manager in person................that email thing doesn't work most of the time.

What is it that people do not understand "You will not be seated until all of the party is present" I do not understand why groups think they should be treated with kid gloves (especially golf groups). Some groups think they are VIPs and everyone around them wants to know about the how they lined up there 4th put on hole #2. or how the red blouse goes with her hair or the guys talking how there wife are going to kill them if they dont get home on time.. If l were the manager or owner and someone did not tip - they better have a "really" good reason, or they would never get served again ----- I hope everyone enjoys Beefs dont think Glenview will go out of business without your business -- I just love the people who order water with lemon ---I would tell them the only water that comes with lemon is bottled water a $2 a bottle, or a slice of lemon is $2

Bad Guess. 12 of us played Cane Garden last Wednesday and had no problem. We were promptly seated and served as we arrived. Service and food were both very good by the way.

Difficult to speak to the Manager who spends most of his time as the cook at The 110th St Grill in Bellview, which he happens to also own.

Wow, the next day, thurs. 4 foursomes were not allowed to sit/order in the breezeway at Cane. Their loss, drinks plus tips for 16.:beer3:

I recently had a very pleasant experience at Cane Garden.

I stopped by the club by myself just to have a beer after golf at Heron. I sat myself at a table outdoors and there were 3 ladies:evil6: at the table next to me. They each had 2 bottles of beer in front of them. One asked me if I would like their second bottle of beer as they had to be leaving to go to another function. I offered to pay for the beers but they refused. Hey, 3 free bottles of beer! What could be better than that?

BTW, I did tip the server who was responsible for my table even though she did not serve me anything - but did have to clean the table and take the bottles after I left.

Glenview is situated in a very affluent part of TV, it is not unusual to see diners arriving in jackets and ties and ladies in dressy dresses. I have watched the blonde hostess take the arm of regulars who need assistance and help them to their seats.

I cannot think of a time when I was at Glenview when it was not busy with people waiting to be seated. We have been there for lunch, dinner, to drink in the lounge and for special occasion meals and can honestly say we have always been treated with courtesy. We have very often met friends in the lobby area and have been asked to wait for our party to arrive before being seated; for whatever reason, this is their policy and it has never bothered us.

On the other hand, we dropped in to Beefs on 466 recently and took a booth. In the middle of the floor there was a "team" of ladies celebrating a win of some sort. Their language and the noise they were making was excessive and the manager asked them to leave, whereupon they set about all the people sitting around them, cursing us out and screaming and throwing money on the floor. The little girl clearing the table apologized to everyone and had to fumble on the ground to pick up the coins they had thrown under the table .................

How about the poor souls that don't live in the affluent Glenview part of The Villages. What makes it affluent over other villages?? We are all proud of our villages.................but to say we are very affluent, come on!

I don't think it was meant like that.
