What would you expect from a rubber glove in a salad post?
A profound discussion?:ohdear:

Well, at least it's less scary than this.

I would have kept most of the glove and just given them one finger.

bilcon 04-09-2021 07:13 AM

WOW! It must have been a really big salad if you didn't 't see the glove before you ate the salad. Remember the 50's song: Tears on My Pillow? Now we can revive it with a new song. Gloves in my Salad.

OK....so it was a glove. At least it wasn't a pube.

Thank you for sharing. Great that you tipped the server as well. I give you credit for allowing the "manager" off so easily. Picking up the bill is the easy way out; a true manager would have provided an explanation (any, at this point...as a golve in food is not acceptable) and a certificate for you both to dine with them again for...FREE. Restuarants in TV do not have managers that have been trained/educated in management. I can hear everyone saying that they dont get paid enough. Sigh...

I told our server who seemed outraged and she took the bowl and glove seeking answers. At least five minutes later a manager came out who apparently knew nothing about it. I showed him the photo I took and he said he was wondering how it came to be. I said that was not my concern. He left and after five more minutes came back and took my bill, never to return.

I left a tip for the server who was very good and I left. No apology, no offer of anything was made. I just thought others ought to know.

Huh? Didn't notice a glove in my salad?

jimkerr 04-09-2021 07:48 AM

That’s disgusting. I would report it to the Fl. Dept. of Health just so it’s documented.

Was your salad finger-licking good?

Hope they finger the culprit.

During a restaurant breakfast with 3 other ladies, a roach appeared on the table and quickly ran across my plate of food. I smashed it with my napkin. That waitress was not as nice and even replied “the roach could have come from anywhere.”

I insisted that all four meals be comped, as we all lost our appetite after that happened. I eventually won the battle.

Regarding the outcome, the manager didn't handle that very well!

That would have cost extra and if raw still would get no apologies 🤣.

Had something similar in the past at Red Sauce in Sumter. A suction cup was in my salad. I pointed it out to my waitress. She did apologized and said the manager and owner were there this evening and she would tell them. I never saw either one of them come to our table.

I have found that business owners don’t apologize anymore. If a steak is overdone or underdone, if the food is cold, if your drink gets knocked over, if your food has a bug in it, if a clerk charges you for three items when you only bought two and it takes twenty minutes to get it credited at Walgreens, I could go on and on. No apology. No I’m sorry or excuse me. It’s like they won’t admit they did anything wrong. Too pigheaded? Too arrogant? Too entitled? Too selfish too admit they aren’t the center of the universe and someone else deserves an apology? Afraid they might get sued if they admit they were wrong? I don’t know what the answer is, but if I make a mistake, I was taught to apologize. Even if it hurts.
