Tell your friend fish and chips is fine, but onion rings are still waiting for a Supreme Court judgement, so only do it in the privacy of their own home.

Are you really anti onion rings? Is this an English thing?

If so we had another reason to revolt.

Not just any vinegar. Malt vinegar. And only on fish and chips. Never on onion rings. you shouldn't even salt onion rings. If they're made right, they're perfect exactly as they arrive on the plate.

And lets not talk about those that dip pizza in ranch dressing.

Maybe you should stay out of restaurants, that way you won't need to worry about what anyone else is or isn't eating.

America was finished as far as we were concerned, and labeled a failed state the moment you threw all that tea in the sea.
It wouldn't have been quite so bad if the water had been boiled.
But tea in cold water!!! :ohdear:

Either way, for me, it’s being spectator to some who get so lathered up and bothered by what is, for the most part, very educational and entertaining!

I'm with you, the first few times I visited TOTV I thought 'what a bunch of grumpy old farts with nothing to do but complain' but in time I started laughing at about half the posts. I must admit about 3/4 of my posts are smarta$$ comments with very little merit other than to entertain me (often at the expense of others). I still hold the opinion that some folks on here must lead a miserable existence but I'm coming to appreciate the the balance with their moments of helpful information, opinions, quips, gripes and smackdowns. I'd like to meet some of the saltier folks to see who they are without a keyboard and to possibly give a few a Fresh One.

There's a place near College Park, MD that makes incredible batter dipped onion rings. They sprinkle a bit of "Old Bay" on when they take them out of the fryer...

Quite tasty!

He must be from the "North" of England...

No self respecting southerner would dare say an unkind word about iced tea...

Old Bay seasoning is an excellent spice to keep in the kitchen in a salt shaker. You can use it in soups, vegetable juice, seafood, chicken, fries, and other foods.

Um, catsup (ketchup) is made from tomatoes, a fruit, not vegetable. Fruit sauce. Jmho

I keep Old Bay in its original box.

I've never used it. I got it when we moved in, 5 years ago. It's still unopened. I did the same in our house up north. Had a box, because everyone says that no proper kitchen is without one. Had it there over 10 years, then we moved and I tossed it.

We use a lot of old bay but I don't think we've ever put it on seafood and I think the picture on the box is shrimp and crabs (or fish). Anything that goes in a crockpot, stew pot or the oven gets a little, even eggs or mac and cheese, yummy.

See so many adults slathering it on everything before they even taste their food. Why put on a sugary/vinergar glop on perfectly good tasting food.

Welll… actually I like ketchup on some foods. Sometimes the taste compliments the flavor. And it has to be a certain type of ketchup. Each to their own (taste buds).
