Since nothing is as it really seems any more, Perhaps the poster had other motivation. Perhaps the poster wanted everyone to see that they eat in 5 star restaurants and that they want halal.

But if you think there are truly any 5 star restaurants here then should we really listen to the rant about ketchup? Hahahaha...nope.

Really! This is what you think is beneficial to post? Wow!

if viewed as a tongue-in-cheek, this thread is amusing ;), and if i think of 5 star, chop house comes to mind.

I hope the OP never witnesses your eating habits in a restaurant. Mixing mayo and malt vinegar with ketchup BEFORE tasting the food? Your table must be full of condiments throughout your meal. Blasphemy!

Perceptive.

My take is that is is just to generate controversy. Maybe vent a little grumpiness too.

Probably enjoys ketchup on their Pop-Tarts.

I would not put ketchup on my Omaha Steak filet mignon but almost anything else goes.

In their opinion, whatever they’re eating needs it. Opinions are like a******s, everyone has one. :spoken:

Reading through this thread, it appears 5 star restaurants in the Villages are any that serve ketchup. Michelin star for those that serve additional condiments for do-it-yourself mixing. We are a group who know what we like!

Or perhaps the OP, he or she, is just trolling. Unheard of on a forum! Or if you look at the verbiage, maybe it's a grandchild that found an open window!

Ketchup was the only thing that made my mother's cooking palatable.

Let people eat what they want and like. This original post was just odd. Mind your own business or others will mind yours and you won't like that result. What next? People should only eat what you eat? Live and let live.

I was once banned from a very pretentious restaurant for asking for HP Brown Sauce.
Chef/Cook came out and gave me lecture on blending herbs and spices that compliment the meal.
I said that's exactly why I wanted the brown sauce, there was no flavor.
Still, I got a free starter out of it, when they chucked me out!

ketchup

If you do not eat two times more mustard than ketchup,, you are not a strong man or woman.

Freeda 03-11-2024 09:51 AM

Switching to one of the sugar free, low - or no - sodium versions is a good idea.

There is a five star restaurant here? Which restaurant(s) here would be rated as five star by anyone?

The food in most Villages restaurants is mediocre at best and ketchup, or condiment of choice, is reasonable to use to make the food palatable.

I stopped using ketchup when I saw restaurant staff topping off the Heinz ketchup bottles from a big bladder of ketchup. How long do you think the ketchup in the bottom of the bottle has been there? As a sidenote, I recently saw them doing just that at Johnny Rockets!

I noticed this in other restaurants. Wait staff just fill without emptying and cleaning. Salad dressings are the worst! I often see hardened glop all over the tops of the containers in the wait stations. I love ketchup, but packets please!

ketchup saved my marriage!

I think those silly french folks use mayo on their fries, for me nothing is better than Chili's fries dipped in their salsa, yummy

So many posts on here by folks who try to control what others do. It's impossible.
I think they have a pill for that.

Speaking of Ketchup, I had an uncle once that was the only person I ever knew that would bring a bottle of ketchup to chinese restaurant!

For real???? Doesn't seem like tomato, vinegar and corn syrup should be forbidden on any dietary laws

Since it is considered haram to put ketchup on halal camel steak or mutton, would it be acceptable to use Grey Poupon mustard thereon in lieu of ketchup?

Mustard may be Haram…best to avoid it. Only sauces on Halal chicken and rice are white sauce and hot sauce.

samquiros 03-11-2024 02:12 PM

I like ketchup.
