I think the fact that Villagers eat out such a tremendous amount of the time keeps up the demand for low prices.

Yes...Bluefin...wonder if it will be more of their mediocre food...IMHO. Or will they improve the quality?

I for one think it is great news and want to give them a fair chance. If they create a great venue it will certainly be a welcome addition to Brownwood.

There is plenty of space available. Where are you thinking about opening?

Doubtful unless things have changed. Talking to some that have been here for a long time, restaurant's that provide higher quality continually do market studies and so far, they don't cross the bar. Asiantree had it right, there are quality places outside the bubble but they don't rely on Villagers for the majority of their business. I remember when Tapas opened in Brownwood, the posts were all about the prices and the small portions....which is what Tapas is all about. But not here.Not sure if Blue Fin is a franchise since there are other places with same name around the country or totally local. I will give it a chance and reserve judgement until they open.

What we need is a new restaurant that has Le Cordon Bleu trained chefs, no meal over $15...and tipping is absolutely banned.

Turner's. Leesburg. Take money, enjoy a great meal or go back to Red lobster/olive garden.

Taste reality. Print that great recipe u drool over on line, buy the "quality" products missing at all the TV restaurants. Then check your cost?

You won't eat that **** shrimp from Asia? What's the price for Keys shrimp at the dock? Transportation, train Chef, lease building, install kitchen, hire staff, food prep, cook, plate and kiss your ass service. All for $15 and a buck fifty tip.

You expect a quality meal on the cheap just because that's all the money Villagers have to spend? Look around. Conspicuous Consumption rules this place. Except when eating dinner out? I thought it was the current generation that's Entitled. The world owes you. What?

You won't find a great cheap meal anywhere. Although, Wendy's does have a 4 for $4 deal. Enjoy.

There is a Facebook group about eating in and around The Villages. The vast majority of participants claim to tip 20% or more (on the total, after tax amount). Like you, we have seen otherwise and we have spoken with many servers who claim otherwise. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion on this (and the quality of service should, in our opinion, be taken into account). Servers have low paying jobs. Tips are an expected part of their incomes. If you don't enjoy a restaurant, don't return but don't penalize the server (unless there is a specific to be dissatisfied with the server).

Quality food, try The Rose Plantation in Fruitland Park off 466A. Not a long drive and excellent food. It will cost a lot more than you pay in The Villages but worth it.

I just hope Bluefin has a lot of cold water fish not just the usual grouper and tilapia that is served here.
