I stand corrected ... I know that they left the original location on 441 open for a while after the one on 17th opened and I had understood that they would continue to do so .... guess not. Too bad as it was close for a lot of small biz owners I know in the downtown / square area of Ocala.

I would love to see a New Orleans style restaurant like Harry's in Ocala. A French Bistro would also be fabulous! Love Bonifay and Evans Prairie so I have really high hopes for this place too!

Yes, Fred from Bonifay, Evan's Prairie and Scooples is taking it over. He will start doing some remodeling soon.

I'm up here in the north lurking from 0 degree weather. So my question is, what would the TGIFriday's look like right now if I were to drive by :shrug:. Is there nothing there giving a clue as to what it may be. I'm surprised it's not open or going to be open VERY soon to get the in season income.

BS Beef, I think the place just looks empty. That location never matched the caliber of the TGI Fridays at Kenny and Henderson. It was our regular Friday night dining spot with friends.

They have great wings and is a locally owned business. The owner is a community minded guy that gives generously to kid's activities. His brother has a food truck in Miami that was featured on one of those food channels. Rondo, the owner, is a class act. If the rumor about Brownwood is true, TV will be truly blessed with his presence.

Haaa!!! Jojo that's really a fun stroll down memory lane. Not sure when you saw Kenny & Henderson lately but you wouldn't recognize it if it's been over a year or 2. That makes me think I should root for a Max and Erma's going in that spot :)

It is gonna be an all American eatery..I talked to the owner and he said he doesn't know where the rumor of the steakhouse started but it is not gonna be one. He still has not come up with a name but will be ready in February

I don't mean to be skeptical but that doesn't make any sense. How could you not even have a name at this point but you're somehow going to be open in February :shrug:

I am among the many who is not an aficionado of Brazilian steak houses. I have eaten at a number of them and I find the beef highly seasoned and very salty. I've never been to Brazil to sample what a real steak house is like, but in this country I find them overrated and expensive, probably because they have a gimmick and are a little different.

:icon_hungry: Ok it's February. Has anyone been by recently. It has to be taking shape. I've got to believe they will do what ever they can to get opened ASAP so as to catch as much of "the season" as possible.

it WAS going to be a sport bars....then a steak house....but problems with the papers...so NOTHING so far.....the rent is crazy....sad it is empty!!!!!
