I heard it will become an indoor pool.

To tell the truth, I liked Friday's and miss it. Maybe a new TGIF franchise owner will come in. Or maybe they'll just level it along with Barnes and Noble and expand the Square.

Shimpy, Bonnie's post was from December, so she was referring to this past February. I've followed this for a while. I have my trust in Bonnie's camp as being in the know. The whole thing seems a bit odd to me. I would have thought they'd want to get whatever open during the high season.

I'm watching and waiting patiently on Bonnie's next update :popcorn:

Bonny is on it as she usually is. I am sure that she is right too, in who she thinks will open there.

It doesn't just happen with a snap of the fingers. The building, the shell is there but it looks like a Fridays, it has to be remodeled to fit the new owners criteria. I say owner because it will be rented to the business that will run it as a restaurant. This usually means amassing the money, getting the loan for the business with all that entails, or if it is a chain, making the decision to open another location which too requires a lot of money.

Someone just doesn't turn up with a chef jacket and say. O.K. I'll take this on. I remember talking to the woman at the Lighthouse who was manager there for many years when the Morse's owned the restaurant.(They still own the building) She was saving for a long time to buy the business and finally was able to do so.

I am amazed sometimes at people saying as I read recently something close to this, "The Orange Blossom Restaurant was there when people in the area bought their homes and it should be reopened at once."

Here we are in May...has there been any word on who will move into the old TGIF space?

PRIME spot!! what is the problem... got to be some reason ,,, the major chains will not pass up a place to make a buck,,, rumors were someone local was going to jump on it,,, gotta be a reason,,, Retail space is empty all over, not just here, but in TV it should be like shooting fish in a barrel! At this point would be a real stretch to get it ready for the next high season. I have no idea the answer just asking the question...
