They already know how to negotiate.

only Deli I ever went to that you could get Corned Beef on white bread with mayo and cheese.
Good Riddance

They had the best Shepard's Pie and Deli meats and Chopped Liver around. Not really a Jewish Deli though, which was disappointing. The two things I miss from up North - Real Jewish Deli and real Italian Bakeries.

Some say Cody's should be gone as well. I totally disagree. I go to Cody's - don't really like the food or the mixed drinks. I find out what entertainment they have. If I like it I go, sit outside, have a beer (actually 2 as it's 2 for 1), a hamburger and fries. Ketchup and onions on the burger. That's what you wind up tasking anyway. So, for a few bucks you get an okay burger and fries, a typical beer and some entertainment for a relatively low price. If you have what you believe is a superior palate and exquisite tastes in entertainment and wine then by all means check out Manhattan. It will only be a couple of bucks more. After all you get what you pay for.

On the unmentionable online news. :ohdear: Really enjoyed their food, especially their carrot cake.

This is what happens when you don't take care of your customer base. Poor management at the Brownwood location has always been a problem. Numerous mess ups on orders for take out recently and when they run a promo they always run out. I stopped going a while ago just because they didn't care.

Filing this quickly only says they were living day to day and not controlling their business and budgets.

Sounds like the American public in general . Know many people with family incomes over $200,000 annually, big home, 2 cars, ritzy vacation, and no reserves . Now we "need " to bail these people out. Time for people to be more responsible or pay the piper. I do support stimulus in targeted situations and understand that misjudgements will be made. Goes for corporations and small businesses alike. Cash on Hand is still King.

It is obvious that most of the posters did not read the article “in that other place”. TooJays has three locations in The Villages. Most of their other locations are in south Florida and cannot reopen. Yes, Chapter 11 is a last gap opportunity to stay in business, but three locations in The Villages is not going to keep the entire corporation afloat.

Like all the other restaurants “reviews” if you do not like a restaurant, just don’t go their. Let others make their own choice/decisions. Me, I have alway enjoyed TooJays and will be sorry if they don’t survive this shutdown. I am sure there are going to be others as well.

Lastly, rather than thinking about yourselves and your food choices, think about all the severs, cooks, hostesses, and managers that will be losing their job permanently if TooJays closes. Find you favorite places, and support you local restaurants!

Brownwood has been used to seeing that situation since it was built.

The Hot Pastrami with Mustard in a Jewish deli in Manhattan was the best and was worth every penny of it.... :icon_hungry:

One Restaurant shuts down, another one opens, its been that way all the time unless of course the neighborhood goes down hill...
