Default Ryder Cup Coverage

There are four groups on the course playing alternate ball. That means there are only 8 balls in play. Yet we are not seeing a lot of the shots. Not sure why a network wants to televise a Ryder Cup but skip many of the shots.

Hopefully, you have been watching the tournament live on "USA". If you watch "Live from the Ryder Cup" on the golf channel, they are not allowed to show any live shots.

I use YouTube TV via Firestick, and best I could tell. When I tried to watch the Ryder cup on USA Network, I was black-out-blocked (black screen). When I use a VPN service to Atlanta, I could watch just fine....

I'm not having any problem seeing lots of shots on the USA (HD) network through X-Finity. I have to say though, I'm not real impressed with the shots from our guys in the first session.

So they have more time for ads. Since I record it, then start it like 45 min later, I can skip the ads. However, more and more they are using "playing through" to shove the ads down our throats. I just mute those. But overall the coverage has been mediocre at best as far as showing shots

Are you seeing every shot? With 8 balls in play in the morning session, we should see every shot - either live or with a short delay!

Not every single shot, but usually the more consequential ones in the closer matches.

With all the hype re Bethpage Black, I have found it boring on TV. No water - Masters and other pro courses are so beautiful to watch, not BPB IMO. Also the TV coverage of the course is poor. Used to closeups of the balls in flight etc. Seems as if they may have less cameras. I watch on USA network.

Europe is HOT, USA meh. We'll see how it goes Sat-Sun.

Different format. When you watch PGA Tournaments on TV, the only holes that matter, are usually the last 3 or 4 .. that's all they have to cover.

Ryder Cup/Match Play are not viewer friendly, nor does it generate the ratings that The Masters does. Cost prohibitive for the same sort of TV coverage.

My comments were primarily the BPB COURSE, not type of play.
