Default Pharaoh Ant Problem

We had a problem with very tiny ants that we thought were sugar ants. We've dealt with sugar ants before and they were easy to get rid of, but not these ants. We tried standard ant poisons inside and outside and nothing worked. They seemed to come back worse than ever. So I looked at a few of the ants with a magnifying glass and I did some research. I discovered that they were Pharaoh ants and difficult to get rid of. Spraying them makes it worse. An effective poison needs to have a slow kill formula for both sweet and grease seeking ants that won't kill them right away so they can take some back to the queen. Luckily I found that CombatMax Ant Killing Gel works on Pharaoh ants. I bought it from Lowes. I placed the poison near their trail in the kitchen and at first they went around it. But an hour later I checked again and they were chowing down on the gel by the droves and hopefully taking some back home to their queen. Now two days later I don't see any ants. So this stuff is working so far. It's different that the CombatMax 2 in 1 bait. It's the Gel that comes in a syringe and says it kills Pharaoh ants on the back label.

Yes, we had an “outbreak” of those ants, and finally had Massey come out. The man knew what they were, how to treat them, and followed up a week later to check on things. He may have used a similar/same gel. Soooo glad it worked!

Good to hear. I would have called a professional if it didn't work but thankfully the ants are gone.

Thus stuff might be worth a try. Only cost $6 at Lowes. It says it works on White-footed ants. Just squirt a bit down where they can find it.
