Default Gas oven igniter

Have Samsung gas stove the oven taking long time to come up to baking temperature (20 mins or more) and making puffing sound sometimes.

Replaced the flame rail gas igniter which wasn’t too hard took about 40 mins start to finish.

I guess I was lucky mine lasted 10 years, seems most go bad in 4 or 5 years.

After replacing the igniter took about 8 mins or so to come up to baking temperature and no puffing sounds.

The igniter off Amazon runs 20 to 50 bucks. Retain from Samsung $249. I got two pack for 36 bucks.

Not hard job just not easy job working over the front door and laying down.

Mine has been doing that too. Not heating properly. It is a Kenmore. But have been using other appliances to make dinners. So. No hurry. I will probably just hire a handyman at some future date. Anyone have a reasonably priced oven repair person?

Well done!

Check the oven temperature, ours was 20 degrees off. The manual explains how to recalibrate.

Nice. I did the same. Ours failed completely, and at precisely the wrong time of course. I thought I would be smart and steal the igniter from the broiler and move it down. Naturally Samsung uses different part numbers for those two igniters. Anyway once I did replace the oven igniter, beyond simply working again my wife noted that it came to temperature much quicker than it had been before.
