Default Costco Optical

Does anyone have any experience with Costco optical? Is it on a par with Walmart?
Thanks

I used Costco optical back in my prior home in Tennessee. I found them to be very inexpensive, but I didn't like the quality of the lenses or frames, so I don't use them anymore.

Lots of people like them however, so I am probably in the minority. I've never used Walmart.

Been using them for years. Their prices are good. They are accurate on fulfilling prescriptions. They take about 7 to 10 days until the glasses are ready.

Have used them for 15 years. They stand behind their product. I use my glasses only for driving, so vert little use. Costco replaces the lenses in same frames because my frames were perfect. So far saved about $800. Most eyeglass shops won’t reuse frames

Many years ago Consumers Reports rated the quality of Costco lenses second only to Bausch and Lomb and at a fraction of the price. I stopped going to an optician who charged a bundle and have used Costco ever since. I have been very happy with both their glasses and their service. I can drop into any Costco optical department anywhere and get my glasses adjusted.

I have bought my glasses at Costco for over 10 years. It’s the reason I have my membership. Quality of lenses are great. After care is 100% if they need fixed. And price usually $150 a pair for progressive with all the works.

I’ve been using Costco for glasses for about 10 years. My experience is they have fast, quality service. The last time I used their Optometrist (Clermont Costco) for the first time because I was given an inaccurate prescription by the guy in Magnolia Plaza. I believe the Optometrist is an independent and not affiliated with Costco. The quality of the exam I received was better than what I’ve gotten elsewhere in The Villages. When the warehouse opens in The Villages I plan to try their Optometrist for my next exam.

My opthalmologist said Costco's work is excellent. She said they have 3 labs located around the country and your local Costco will send your frame and prescription to the nearest lab to make your glasses. My othalmologist also said that Costco does not offer a lot of frills as far as lense selection goes, but for a basic lense that suits most people, she recommends them.

Costco far surpasses Walmart in quality, service and turn time.

We have used Costco for eyeglasses for years, very happy with them. They sell a lens that is designed for those who spend a lot of time on the computer. Ask about it as a option.

My daughter has a family of 5….everyone with glasses.
She’s only used COSTCO for 10 years. The kids always have stylish glasses that they love to wear. That’s where I’m getting my next pair…but I’m taking in my own frames.

We have used them for years in multiple states.

Last year, my optometrist here wrote my prescription incorrectly. My consultant at Costco told me she was concerned and wanted to confirm the script. She ended up getting the Dr on the phone while I waited. There was definitely an issue and he faxed a new script over immediately which avoided a costly mistake. We find Costco optical through, customer focused and offer great prices with a good selection.
