"The Long Walk". 1979. Stephen King writing as Richard Bachman.
The movie of the same name comes out in a few weeks. I have enjoyed most of Stephen King's books since Carrie came out in 1974. Carrie (novel) - Wikipedia

|
The Long Walk and The Running Man (both published under Richard Bachman) are two of my favorite Stephen King stories. I did not particularly care for the movie version of The Running Man... probably because I'm not a fan of Schwarzenegger movies. Hopefully, The Long Walk will do better.
