Eyes Wide Shut

I was going to post that movie, but you beat me to it. No wonder Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman divorced a few years later.

And I thought that I was the only one who hated it. I was watching it on a rented tape with my kids who were 10 or 12 at the time and I started a rubber band fight to stave off boredom

Game change.

LI SNOWBIRD 01-23-2014 09:34 AM

Foe me it was :Men Who Stare at Goats" with Mr. Clooney.
I usually like bad moves directed by Alan Smythee and Ed Wood pictures.

eweissenbach 01-23-2014 09:49 AM

Black Swan. It won a bunch of awards as I recall - most depressing couple hours I have ever spent

Cedwards38 01-23-2014 10:05 AM

The Legend of Boggy Creek. I still want my money back.

juneroses 01-23-2014 10:35 AM

"Grand Canyon".

My nephew was in marketing and called to say he had tickets to a movie premiere that night and couldn't go. Would Uncle and I be interested. "Sure".

The theater is packed. We have good seats and are feeling quite privileged to be among this select crowd. The movie rolls. We sit there attentively watching. Finally, my husband leans over to whisper "what the h*** is happening?" I don't know either but I assure him that it will soon all come together and make sense.

I conjecture that perhaps we in the audience are part of a psychological experiment. We're being tested to see how long we'll sit and watch "nothing". Finally I can be noble no more and whisper "let's leave".

Now my husband takes the upper road and say's "we can't, Billy gave us the tickets". I settle back resigned to last until the credits roll (will anyone actually take credit for it?).

But…I'm saved. Hubby waves the white flag and whispers those words I've longed to hear…"c'mom, let's leave".

stroglass 01-23-2014 10:39 AM

Can not remember the name but my daughter rented it. it was a horror film and the only thing I remember is they keep calling everyone "Queer Bait" it was so bad we never finished watching it
The kicker is it took the girls about an hour at the video store to pick this movie:a040

jblum315 01-23-2014 10:52 AM

The Blair Witch Project

BarryRX 01-23-2014 11:39 AM

My taste in movies must be different from a lot of folks. Here are some of the movies listed on this thread by a bunch of posters as the worst.....but they would make my top 100 list:
2001 A Space Odyssey
Gravity
My Left Foot
Star Wars
The Exorcist
Dances with Wolves
Clockwork Orange
Braveheart
No Country for Old Men
Rocky Horror Picture Show
Midnight Cowboy.

All Alan Smythee movies are bad ones. He is not a real person. It is a name used by directors who don't want their real name attached to a crummy movie :)

IF someone already mentioned it, I agree! Nothing worse than this one;
Caddy Shack 2! Must be something about sequels.

I agree with all your choices except Braveheart. Just didn't like it.

All John Wayne " War Movies " why ? For a guy who was never in the military , portrayed himself as some kind of war Hero is disgusting. To this day he is considered an American Hero . The guy was declared 4F from a high school football injury, then later declared fit for duty, married wife had child, went well down on the draft list.
Bronze Statue of John Wayne at Fort Benning, Ga... and Audi Murphy... ? Nothing

elizabeth52 01-23-2014 10:03 PM

Another vote for A Clockwork Orange. Hated it!

Ok JP that's pretty darn funny. :1rotfl:

I'm going to have to say I walked out on Chariots of Fire. Of course the critics loved it. I want to see American Beauty again. I went in thinking it was going to be a main stream movie ala Pretty Woman. We left at the end thinking what in the heck was that

BS Beef 01-23-2014 10:21 PM

Sorry just saw it when I hit "submit" I walked out on "Clockwork Orange" too. Guess I'm not bright enough didn't get it either. And honestly I like some really obscure movies but this was just plain awful.

For example. Dr. Winston I'm sure you've scene it but you have to watch "This is Spinal Tap" and from the same group of people another obscure movie is "Waiting for Guffman".

Oh my goodness. Elf is a must see for me and my family at least twice during the holiday season. It was cute and funny. Sorry you didn't appreciate it.

The same ensemble did three others even better than those; A mighty wind; For Your Consideration; and the all time best "Best of Show".

Yung Dum 01-24-2014 12:07 AM

"Horrors Of The Red Planet" is so bad it's not even a "B" movie. Makes "Plan 9 From Outer Space" look like a classic (which, in it's own way, is). It's cheap, boring and loaded with bad acting. As a fan of really bad movies, this is the worst.
A close second in the genre would be "The Creeping Terror". The world's least scary monster. Looks like slow moving hedges.
Both are well worth watching if you like that sort of thing.

coconutmama 01-24-2014 07:13 AM

Clockwork Orange would be my pick for Worst.

JB in TV 01-24-2014 07:20 AM

Clockwork Orange was soooo long ago, early 70'S???? I do remember leaving that movie way before it ended. A somewhat more recent movie on my "worst list"...Cliffhanger. The gratuitous violence was just too much for me. I like to be entertained when I go to a movie... watching someone get the s#!7 kicked out of them is not entertaining to me.

Judith Ann 01-27-2014 09:06 PM

For me it was TED...ugh!

jhrc4 01-28-2014 07:18 AM

March or Die. Even though it was made in 1977, it was so bad I can't forget.

TennDrifter 04-25-2014 09:40 PM

Worst Movie

Wolf on wall street

kittygilchrist 04-25-2014 10:09 PM

12 Years as a Slave.

maddie101 04-26-2014 03:18 AM

Another vote for Pulp Fiction.

Taltarzac725 04-26-2014 06:52 AM

List of films considered the worst - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I agree with some of these from the Wikipedia list.

I actually liked many of the movies mentioned on this thread like Pulp Fiction, Cliffhanger, 12 Years a Slave and A Clockwork Orange.

Shakespeare in Love bored me silly when I first saw it, but maybe I should go back and see it again. I never viewed it again.

loveinthesun 04-26-2014 07:04 AM

All is lost... That movie was the pits

I agree!! Rented it last wk. the first couple of minutes of viewing the most disgusting porn scenes did it for me! Shut it down right then, glad it only cost me a dollar...that's all it was worth...actually not even that much. I find it amazing that this trash got nominated for an Oscar!!!
