We Own This City Starts 4/25 on HBO

There’s a new cop show coming out 4/25 on HBO “We Own This City”

Based on the book "We Own This City: A True Story of
Crime, Cops and Corruption" by Baltimore Sun
reporter Justin Fenton, this gritty drama chronicles the
rise and fall of the Baltimore Police Department's Gun
Trace Task Force. It exposes the corruption and moral
collapse that befalls an American city in which the
policies of drug prohibition and mass arrest are
championed at the expense of actual police work.
Created and written by David Simon, creator of "The
Wire," and George Pelecanos, production took place
in Baltimore.

I enjoyed Pamela Adlon's Better Things on FX.

Two more

"Ghosts" is a sitcom from CBS that is wrapping up season 1, but I think you can watch past episodes on paramount. It got 95% on rotten tomatoes.

"From" is a horror/suspense on Epix that is also just wrapping up season 1. Think "Lost" but darker and scary.

I subscribe too, and have been watching Wondrous (formerly the heat courses.) I have been cooking some of the dishes taught by Culinary Institute of America Chef. an example of good science is "What Einstein got Wrong." I have recently been fascinated by a series on the Gnostic gospels.

We tend not to watch that many "new" shows. And we find British shows for the most part better written and acted. Masterpiece on PBS is highly recommended. Here is what we are currently watching.

Unforgotten - Detective in England that works "Historic" cases (what we would call cold cases here)

Elementary - Reimagined Sherlock Holmes and Watson. Takes place in the modern US, Watson is a Female and Sherlock is a recovering drug addict. It is EXCELLENT.

Severed - SciFi - Company developed technology to sever your mind into two parts, so one part has memories only at work other has memories only at home. VERY weird, very interesting. Not for everyone.

Rookie - "fun" light viewing, Police Rookies Starring "Castle" from the Series "Castle" (also highly recommended for light viewing.)

Slow Horses - British setting of MI-5, Slow Horses refer to agents that screw up and get assigned to a group that doesn't get assigned any work - but manage to get some and get into trouble doing it. Not a comedy, excellent.

I like British-made movies and series both comedy and thrillers. I only get Prime so that is somewhat limiting. A recent comedy series "The Outlaws" was something I liked. It had Christopher Walken as one of the main characters - he is always unique. I liked "Fleabag". "Counterpart" was very good. Mr Robot was a classic. Also the Man in the High Castle. Humans was good. Utopia was good. A recent series "Outer Range" was good (it started slowly). Forget "Split Second"

Also, there is a lot of torture, which some will find hard to watch.

i researched the show when i saw the scotts had relocated into north carolina near todays blue ridge parkway.
To this day there is a " gathering of the clans" there each year with many festivals to enjoy. Vrung your own kilt.

Lots of people liked it but for some reason we could never get into it.

Before bed: Seinfeld. Just finished watching the whole series for the 5th time.
Nobody mentioned TLC. I watch the 90-Day Fiancé series, which is hilarious, also Dr. Pimple Popper and a new one about artificial body parts.
Before that, the news, Jeopardy, and the new Judge Judy. (She says the things I wish I could.)
There is also a new season of Barry coming on HBO(?)
Thanks for all the suggestions. Will try some of them, especially the comedies. Loved Last Tango, Veep, 30 Rock.
