We learned to avoid her as much as possible, but she was a sad, mean-spirited woman and we felt sorry for her. All I can say about someone who intentionally would turn on their sprinklers on a woman with dementi is that it is sad. They need to get a hobby and remember that this is supposed to be the “friendliest” community. As a dog owner, I make sure my dog does not go onto anyone’s lawn. It is a matter of respect. I have a neighbor who allows her dog to poop on my front yard. She is an elderly lady who is sweet. I don’t stay up at night dwelling on it and so I let it go. Life is short.

You are absolutely right about someone intentionally turning the sprinkler on a person with dementia or any other handicap. The person with dementia needs help and the proper authorities should be called to help her.

I love the way people use “friendliest town” in general though. Don’t you? It is almost always used by people who do something aggravating or illegal and expect the others to be “friendly” (put up with it) about it.

This is where not having kids in the Villages is a problem. In any other neighborhood this bad actor neighbor would be the beneficiary of a good house egging, toilet paper sculpture and even a burning bag of dog poop on their doorstep.

They set up a ITTT (if this then that) routine with the ring motion function. Every time motion is detected then turn zone one on for two minutes.

Besides jamming the wifi you can shut off the irrigation or snap off the sprinkler heads. Certainly illegal but it will probably get the message across.

Flame away if you like. If I got sprayed for walking on the street they would suddenly have all sorts of problems.

Just don't get caught or YOU will have all sorts of problems...

We occasionally walk our dog around our neighborhood too. But usually at night where there is not the hot road to hurt her paws. She is on a leash and we walk for her exercise, NOT to relieve herself, that is done in our yard before hand. We keep the leash short and adjust our walk path so she cannot reach others lawns. We feel that is disrespectful of others. Allowing dogs to walk on others lawn edges is inappropriate since it is in their nature to smell and many want to mark their territory.

Make them? Do you own a dog? Yes, you can have the "do their business" before you set out for a walk. But if you're walking them for more than 15-20 minutes, they stop and do it again...

Oh please. Now you’re stooping to “I’m a better dog owner than you”. You’re embarrassing yourself.

Sprinklers

I think the answer is easy- stay off the lawn. Being on a corner piece of property I resent all my neighbors walking their dogs on my lawn. I walk barefoot all the time and have stepped in poop repeatedly from those leaving poop on the lawn. There is no way you can clean up all the poop . Some is always left. I never walk my dogs on someone else’s property. Mine are trained to go before I leave, or when I come back. If they do have an accident off property it is in the street not on someone’s property. They pay big bucks to maintain their property and you should have respect for it. As far as I am concerned , it’s you that are the bad neighbor, not them.

Maybe you're stepping in your dog's poop, since "There is no way you can clean up all the poop. Some is always left"... Just a thought...

Have never heard of sprinklers which respond to movement. Concept seems ridiculous. If they exist, would make it a point to walk on other side of the street. If this problem escalates, need to audition for TV show, Love Thy Neighbor.
