A irlines could require people who want to use whhel chairs to the gate to bring their handicap placard from the state. Those not needing assistance will not have one.

There are service dogs.and emotional support dogs. Are you sure service dogs is what you mean. Most have a high degree of training and special abilities.

Think again. I've had patients returning to my office for additional diagnoses to be added to the form...

Real service dog provide essential service for real handicaps. Fake service dogs are used by unprincipled scammers.
Emotional support dogs are just pets. All pets provide emotional comfort for their owners.

Hopefully, if you know the request is bogus you refuse to sign. There should be a list of these folks so doctors can check to be sure they are not complicit in aiding these unprincipled scammers

No, I don't falsify records or documents...

And a list? Where would said list be kept and maintained?

LOL!

They don't even give "hard time" to those beating, maiming and killing people in the streets...

And the "companies" selling fake licenses don't have "CEOs"... They are small nobodies, scamming the system on ETSY...

In the cloud. Seriously, I have no idea. It would help if one is going from doctor to doctor until they find one to sign for them.
And for the record, I never meant to imply involvement in anything untoward. My sincerest apologies if it was interpreted that way.
The fact remains that far to many people have placards, medications, etc, that they shouldn't have. They get the stuff from somewhere.

In NY, an amputee (missing arm) is not eligible for crossbow privileges during archery season. Those missing both arms/hands are granted a special use permit. I hate NY more every day.

The cloud?

Are you familiar with HIPAA rules? There is no way it's legal to put patients on "a list"...

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ LOL. "The cloud" remark was meant as a joke and was followed up with, "seriously, I have no idea" where the "list" might be kept. Patients are one thing. People trying to pressure doctors to write prescriptions for drugs or handicap placards etc that are not needed are another thing.
I am not a doctor, but I wonder if there is concern about the abuse that goes on related to the placard and prescription med scams. If there is concern, what, legally and ethically can be, should be done? I don't have the answers, but it bothers me to see the scammers get away with abusing and misusing the help that is supposed to be provided to the ones who really need and rely on it. Sorry, something is broke, I can see that, but I don't know how it can be fixed.

There has been a significant crackdown on "pill mills"...

If you have and EMR (electronic medical records) system, you can see what your patient has been prescribed in the past.

It is up to the doctor whether or not to fill write for anther prescription...

But handicap placards? No way, no how...

Are handicap placards still requested at the same rate? Online shopping and store pick up must have reduced the need. Nationwide people can park close to the door even at once busy shopping malls.

I never kept track of the number, but I'd guess I fill out forms for maybe 5-6/year...

Some of those are for renewals...

Heh. Sounds like Minnesota. Time was back there in L'Γ‰toile du Nord, you could get a free season's fishing license when you turned 65. Today the threshold is age 90 and will probably go up from there.
