Default Non-Traeger Pellets in a Traeger Grill

Just bought a Traeger pellet grill and just needed to ask if other owners successfully use non-Traeger pellets. Thanks for the response.

I've had a Traeger since 2013, the only concern is that they be "food grade" pellets which means free of potentially dangerous to your health additives and binders.

Of course. Traeger pellets are known to be low quality pellets. There was a lawsuit awhile ago because it was found that instead of using for example real Apple wood, they just used flavored oil. I NEVER use Traeger pellets. My first choice is Lumberjack pellets, but Bear mountain is good and there are also others. Just make sure you use food grade and not heating pellets.......which are probably hard to find down here, but a common mistake up north. Hope this helps!

Ra
I have used Traeger pellets when I fist bought my Traeger but haven’t now in a long time. They are way over priced. I usually get pellets at Lowes. Bear Mountain brand is good.

Enjoy smoking some meet!
