Self isolation or quarantine is BS, the same way spring breakers kept social distancing--the majority of the cases in Fl are TRAVEL related--quanrantine without a means of enforcement is useless

Nope, according to Florida Health Covid 19 dashboard, majority of cases are not travel related, may have started that way but not now. Click on each county to see stats.

I'm curious about the "Delivery" mantra people use here and elsewhere. Yes, I know that would work for some, but I just checked a quick stat that said in 2018, there were 129,000 residents of the various Villages. Delivery isn't going to do it for the masses.

Self-isolation means staying indoors and completely avoiding contact with other people. You do that by ordering your groceries delivered from Publix on-line. The delivery person leaves them at the garage door and after he/she is gone you retrieve the stuff with gloves and mask on and throw out the plastic before wiping down whatever you bought and taking it in. Use Clorox solution if possible. You don't keep your doctor's appointment, or any appointment. You stay inside the house and don't answer the door if somebody knocks. If your yard is fenced you let your dog out on its own. If you must walk your dog you do it at some odd hour in the night when you won't encounter others. If you don't do these things there is a high probability you will die, so it seems worth the effort. They've proven the virus can hang in the air. If you walk into a room 20 minutes after an infected person walked through it, you can breathe in the virus. If everybody stays home in The Villages we can defeat The Virus. I've been indoors going on 3 weeks now, getting lots accomplished. It's easy. Relax.

Seriously? Then why does the CDC and our government allow people to go to grocery stores, pharmacies and other needed services? They allow us to pick up food at restaurants. If what you say is true, then we are all at risk even if we are diligent with 6 feet social distancing.

I would decline, Don't want my house infected.

I believe we are at risk when we go to the grocery store and use delivery. Someone handled the lettuce and it could have the virus and would be unsafe to eat unless you boiled it. The government can only do so much. We have to use our common sense too. Whatever you touch and eat you need to think about who touched it before and are they sick and do not yet know it? That sounds paranoid but we are talking about a tiny, dangerous entity that we cannot see. A very new enemy.

Yesterday in Jacksonville the medical people intercepted a Ny plane and tested a recent positive person from NY. He said he thought his symptoms had lessened and he could travel. He again tested positive. This is why the people travelling from the northeast need to be tested. We have enough problems with people not being careful.

Would’ve been nice if all passengers were checked BEFORE boarding the plane.

The main problem is that there are too many of them, they are infected and based on interviews at the airport there is a very high probability they will not be self quarantined. So they will exponentially spread the corona virus to the rest of the residents inThe Villages via Publix, Walmart, gas stations, Lowes, etc.

Exactly right.

Its time to shut down AirBNB in The Villages till the virus is gone--with AirBNB, no real controls like checking into a hotel--all you need is a smartphone and a credit card

The governor ordered so yesterday:
Gov. DeSantis suspends new vacation rentals amid coronavirus concerns

Good move, even if several days late. Glad he did it. Not clear how it's enforced but it's a start.
