Thanks, Capt... EXACTLY!!! Troubles me, because coming from big cities there are many many large intersections used by hundreds of cars but I bet proportionately there seems to be more accidents at this intersection than there should be. That's my dilemma. I travel there probably a 1/2 dozen times a day, and it seems so easy to navigate that I'm really not understanding the problem. The traffic lights are all very well scyronized (sp?) so I don't understand it. Yesterday I was driving all around the Bonnybrook/Belvedere villages and some of those intersections are more dangerous to me because of blind spots and sharp curves in the road, but this intersection has nothing??? Speed is a possible issue, I agree, and it looked like one of these cars was trying to make a correction at the last minute because of the skid marks I observed.

Maybe I'm just saying to my fellow Villagers,,,, please be careful!!!!

Could it be... Racing?

There are a lot of people racing on that street. I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but people are always trying to race us from the stop light from Buena Vista... If people are racing... it would be easy to blow through the light.

You can hear them at night when there isn't that much other noise.

"People are always trying to race us from that light."What kind of car do you have?Hemi, Ford Mustang, camaro ?

I was in the Smartcar this week on the way home one evening.* Some young punk in a Mustang pulled up and challenged me to a race.* I smoked him like a cigarette after sex.* I guess he underestimated this old lady.

I've been on 466A for 4 years now and no one has ever tried to race me or have I seen anyone racing... Is it a newbie thing????

FYI: The Villages fire dept is staffed by EMT's and Paramedics.

Don't know but...

..when we lived in suburbs of Chicago it was normal for people to keep on going through a red light after it turned. Now that took some adjusting too and then we moved away....no longer the practice. Wonder if people are used to doing that since that was the norm where they are from.

Several months ago we witnessed an accident at this intersection. A gentleman on a motor bike was stopped at the light, waiting patiently, when a car driven by a very old woman plowed into him. The man went flying, it was a terrifying sit. It was obvious the woman should not be driving and now another human being has been injured by her stupidity.

Everytime I drive by this intersection I remember this man being hit. Please slow down, don't drive if impaired.
